Today, we all need to raise a glass of half ice tea and half lemonade for the king himself, Arnold Palmer. We head back to Bay Hill Club & Lodge for this week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Palmer was loved by so many, and he was one of the great pioneers of this game, so let’s take this week to remember and celebrate his legacy.
What a start to the season we have had so far. Last week at The Honda Classic, we had another first-time winner in Sepp Straka. Let’s take a look at a few favorites heading into this week and news of the tournament so you can bet against the PGA Tour Odds.
Golf Betting Preview for PGA Tour Arnold Palmer Invitational
Bryson Dechambeau
Last year’s winner, Bryson Dechambeau, will not be able to defend his title. On Monday, Dechambeau announced that he has withdrawn from the tournament, citing that he is still not ready to play with his current injury.
Jon Rahm
The current #1 golfer in the world, Jon Rahm, has the best odds at the Arnold Palmer Invitational this week. Rahm currently has +850 odds to win. Rahm is looking for his first win this season.
His last tournament was an appearance at The Genesis Invitational, where he finished T-21. He finished T-10 at the WM Phoenix Open and finished T-3 at the Farmers Insurance Open, where he has previously won.
In the last five years, Rahm has had at least two wins. This would be the best way to kick off the 2022 season with a win at Bay Hill.
Rory McIlroy
The former champion returns to Bay Hill this week. The 2018 Arnold Palmer Invitational Champion is back for his second start on the PGA Tour this week. Rory is looking to get his first win this season. His most recent win came at the CJ Cup at the end of the 2021 season.
McIlroy would be a tough golfer to bet on due to the limited opportunities we have seen him this year. With being a new dad and progressing later into his career, we may start seeing McIlroy in a limited capacity. We know we will see him this week and next for The Players Championship.
This week, McIlroy has +1300 odds to win the tournament. Things may start to pick up for McIlroy soon, with the season starting to pick up on the PGA Tour.
Tyrrell Hatton
While it may be a bit of a surprise, Tyrrell Hatton would not be a bad pick to win the tournament. Hatton is a previous winner at Bay Hill in 2020. The course played very difficultly in 2020 when Hatton won the tournament at 4-under par.
Hatton finished T-21 at the tournament last year, falling short in his title defense. This is a new year for Hatton, where he already has two Top-10 finishes in the DP World Tour. Hatton will be making his first PGA Tour start this week.
Hatton has +3300 odds to start the week. With this being his first start on the PGA Tour this year, that may shy bettors away, but he has a good chance because he knows how to win in tough conditions at Bay Hill.
I have read enough, I need to place my bet now. What to do?
