We are now at the stage of the Triple Crown where things start to get a little controversial. There have been grumblings in the past that only the horses who ran in the Kentucky Derby should be able to compete in the final 2 races. That’s not how things work, though, and is part of the reason why winning the Triple Crown has proven to be so difficult. The 141st running of the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico race track on Saturday, May 21 will see a number of new faces enter the fray, including Cherry Wine, who skipped the Derby. This is a horse that has to be considered something of a longshot coming into this one, but you just never know what might happen. After all, we have seen more than our fair share of surprises and long odds winners in Triple Crown races over the years. Let’s take a closer look at what Cherry Wine is all about and if it really has a shot of beating the horse racing betting odds.
