Season Series

Milwaukee leads 3-0. The teams last played on March 22 in Milwaukee and the Bucks rolled 126-98. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 25 points and 17 rebounds, and Jrue Holiday had a game-high 27 points to go along with seven assists and no turnovers as the Bucks won for the 15th time in their last 16 meetings with the Bulls. Milwaukee played without All-Star forward Khris Middleton, who was dealing with a sore left wrist. The Bucks shot 61% from the floor and had seven players score in double figures. The Bulls shot just 42.4%. Milwaukee took command with a 23-4 spurt that began late in the first quarter and continued in the second.

Why Bet on Milwaukee?

At 48-30, the Bucks are currently in the third spot of the Eastern Conference standings and are one of four teams in the conference to have clinched a playoff spot so far.

The Bucks played a potential NBA Finals preview Sunday vs. Dallas and were upset 118-112 at home. Luka Doncic scored 32 points and matched a season high with 15 assists. Doncic flirted with a triple-double before finishing with eight rebounds. In six career games against the Bucks, Doncic has averaged 26.8 points, 11.3 assists and 9.2 rebounds with three triple-doubles.

Milwaukee’s Jrue Holiday sank a 3-pointer to cut the Mavericks’ lead to 101-98 midway through the fourth quarter. Dwight Powell responded by converting a conventional three-point play to make it 104-98 with 5:52 remaining. The margin didn’t drop below five the rest of the way.

Giannis Antetokounmpo had 28 points and 10 rebounds after resting the previous game. He finished with his 44th double-double of the season, but also appeared to injure his right hand during the fourth quarter. Hit by a Mavericks defender who was swiping down to knock the ball out of the two-time MVP’s possession, Antetokounmpo spent some time flexing his hand in the aftermath.

Antetokounmpo, who enters tonight’s game third in the NBA in scoring at 30.1 ppg, has scored 30+ points and shot 50% from the field in each of his last eight road games dating back to March 4. This is now the second-longest such streak in NBA history and is only one game away from tying Wilt Chamberlain’s nine-game streak during the 1960-61 season for the longest in league history.

Jrue Holiday has scored 20+ points in three of his last five games after putting up 20 points with nine assists against the Mavericks on Sunday. During this five-game stretch, Holiday is averaging 21.6 points, 8.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game while shooting 51.9% from the field.

A win on Tuesday night would also give the Bucks their fourth consecutive Central Division championship. After going 17 seasons between division titles, Milwaukee has won the Central Division in all three of head coach Mike Budenholzer’s seasons with the team so far.

Why Bet on Chicago?

At 45-33 (.577), the Bulls and Toronto are tied 5th in the East, 3.0 games behind Philadelphia (48-30 .615) and Milwaukee (48-30 .615) for 4th and 3rd, respectively, in the conference. However, both the 76ers and Bucks own tiebreakers over Chicago, while the Bulls hold an edge over the Raptors.

The Bulls were 127-109 home losers to the Heat on Saturday as they continue to struggle against the NBA’s best teams. Miami built a nine-point halftime lead and broke it open in the third quarter. The Heat shot 53.7% in the game and made 17 of 34 3-pointers.

“We have a long way to go to be at their level,” Bulls coach Billy Donovan said.

Zach LaVine finished with 33 points, five rebounds, five assists, two rebounds and a steal. LaVine led Chicago in scoring with his 18th 30-point game of the season. He’s averaging 24.6 points, 4.6 boards and 4.5 assists this season. DeMar DeRozan accounted for 26 points on 6-of-18 shooting. It was a rough night for DeRozan from the field after going for 50, 32, 37 over his last three on 52% shooting.

DeRozan comes into Tuesday leading the NBA in points scored with 2,045 (career-high). DeRozan’s total is also the 12th highest of any Bulls player not named Michael Jordan, who recorded 2,000+ points 11 times. Jordan also holds the franchise record (3,041 points) set in 1986-87. DeRozan (6,186) needs 4 free throw attempts to pass Hall of Famer Paul Arizin (6,189) for 41st on the NBA’s All-Time free throw attempts list, and 5 attempts to pass fellow Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett (6,190) for 40th.

The Bulls are 36-8 (.818) when outshooting an opponent; 23-7 (.767) when they hit more 3s; 28-7 (.800) when they hand out more assists; and 44-21 (.677) when two or more players score 20+ points.
