MLB Early AL Championship Winning Predictions

Written by on October 4, 2016

While the Chicago Cubs have dominated in the National League and are the clear-cut favorites to win the NL Pennant and reach the 2016 World Series, over in the American League, things are not nearly as cut and dried.

You see, with each and every team in the AL postseason having something of a legitimate shot to reach this season’s World Series, MLB bettors everywhere need to know what the most likely scenario will be as far as the eventual pennant winner. That’s where I come in. Thanks to the expert online betting analysis that you’re about to get, you’ll have a great idea of just which team is mostly likely to win the AL Pennant. Okay, let’s get started.

Here’s A Closer Look At The MLB Early AL Championship Winning Predictions

Odds to Win 2016 AL Pennant

Texas Rangers2/1
Boston Red Sox9/4
Cleveland Indians4/1
Toronto Blue Jays11/2
Baltimore Orioles12/1

Boston Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox remain the hottest team in baseball right now and that should be scary for their AL counterparts. Boston is 21-6 over the past four weeks and owns the best offense in all of baseball. The BoSox are batting an MLB best .282 and average a league-high 5.5 runs per game. Right now, no one wants to meet Boston in the playoffs and rightfully so!

Texas Rangers

The Rangers have gone 10-9 over the past three weeks, but this is a team that can get hot in a hurry, particularly at the plate. Texas is ranked fifth in team batting average .262, but if they have an Achilles heel, it’s their pitching (Again). The Rangers are the 22nd-ranked team when it comes to team ERA (4.38) and that could be problematic if they face a red-hot hitting team – like Boston – this postseason. The good news for Rangers betting backer sis that Texas has made a habit out of winning close games, compiling a stellar 36-11 mark in games decided by one-run.

Cleveland Indians

The first thing you need to know about the Indians is that they are young and hungry. Cleveland has been virtually unbeatable at home this season (53-28), although the Tribe’s modest 37-37 road mark leaves a lot to be desired. Cleveland is extremely balanced and equally as dangerous, ranking seventh in team ERA (3.86) and sixth in team batting average (.262).

Toronto Blue Jays

The Toronto Blue Jays are a polar-opposite team from the one they’ve usually been. Instead of powerful hitters and weak pitching, this year Toronto is ranked 23rd in team batting average (.248) but a stellar sixth in team ERA (3.79). Oh, and if you think Toronto can’t still bash the baseball with the best of them….think again. The Jays are ranked 14th in team home runs and could upset anyone if they get the hitting to go along with their outstanding pitching this season.

Baltimore Orioles

The Orioles are ranked 16th in hitting at .256 and 18th in pitching with a team ERA of 4.22 and those middling statistics just aren’t going to be good enough to get Baltimore past their more elite counterparts like Boston or Texas. The Orioles are coming off a stretch of having allowed 200 total runs over a 41 game stretch or 4.9 runs per game.
