MLB NL Divisions Betting Analysis and Predictions for the Upcoming 2022 Season

MLB NL Divisions Betting Analysis and Predictions for the Upcoming 2022 Season

It is perhaps not the best time to be talking about baseball, as we have reached a point in the current stalemate between the league and the players association where regular season games are now beginning to be canceled. We are of the belief that hope springs eternal, and while we are looking at a shortened season, we still believe that a deal will, at some point, get done. Another issue we have is that moves cannot be made until an agreement is reached, so we don’t really know where some big-name players are going to land at this point. Still, we are going to do our best to break down each of the NL Divisions but be aware that things might change in the coming weeks. Let’s jump right into action so you can plan your bets against the MLB NL Division Betting Odds.

National League Divisions Analysis | MLB Betting Predictions

NL East

One of the biggest questions waiting to be answered in terms of player movement comes in the East, with Freddie Freeman and the defending World Series champion Atlanta Braves yet to agree on a new deal. This is a team that is going to look very different to what we saw last season, but at +121, they are the favorites to win the division.

The New York Mets (+121) look to be the team most likely to take a run at the Braves. The Mets added some major talent, including Max Scherzer, to their roster, but they are a team that seems to continually underperform. Still, a Wild Card spot looks possible.

The odds for the rest of the NL East: Phillies +470, Marlins +940, Nationals +2700.

NL Central

The Milwaukee Brewers picked up 95 wins on their way to a division title last season, but their offensive frailties were highlighted in the playoffs, including getting shut out twice by the Braves. They haven’t, as of yet, done much to address that issue, but despite that, they are still in as the favorite to win the Central at odds of -131.

I think we might see a minor upset in this division, as I think the St. Louis Cardinals are a very solid bet at odds of +161. They went on a tear in the final weeks of the season in 2021 and made it into the Wild Card. They have a lot of exciting young players coming through, many of whom seemed to find their groove in the latter stages of last season.

The odds for the rest of the NL Central: Reds +580, Cubs +1050, Pirates +3900.

NL West

Yes, the LA Dodgers lost some key players before the league shut down, but this is still a team that is absolutely loaded with talent. They managed 106 wins last season, yet still had to go the Wild Card route in the postseason. It’s tough to bet against them winning the West this season, but you won’t get a ton of value at odds of -163.

The Padres are in as the 2nd favorite in this division, but I think it is the San Francisco Giants who currently have the best value on offer. They are currently sitting at odds of +380 despite winning 107 games and taking the division crown in 2021. They will almost certainly take a step back this season, but they are a good Wild Card bet.

The odds for the rest of the NL West: Padres +182, Rockies +6800, Diamondbacks +9500.
