Madison Bumgarner will be the Ace for the Giants run for the title this year.

MLB Opening Day Parlay Picks

San Francisco at Milwaukee

When: Monday, April 4 at 2:10 PM ETWhere: Miller Park, Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Betting Analysis

I have absolutely nothing against Milwaukee right-hander Wily Peralta (5-10, 4.81 ERA), but the fact of the matter is that the Brewers are facing one of baseball’s best pitchers in Giants former World Series MVP Madison Bumgarner (18-9, 2.93 ERA). San Francisco has won eight of the last nine games against their NL West Division rivals and five of Bumgarner’s last six starts against the Brewers. While Milwaukee has won four of Peralta’s last five starts against the Giants, Milwaukee has also lost eight of its last nine home games. I like the Giants to get the road win in this one!The Pick: San Francisco 4 Milwaukee 2

Boston at Cleveland

When: Monday, April 4 at 4:10 PM ETWhere: Progressive Field, Cleveland, Ohio

Betting Analysis:

In keeping with my aforementioned theme, I have absolutely nothing against Cleveland’s Corey Kluber (9-16, 3.49 ERA), but I just don’t see any way the Tribe gets past new BoSox staff ace left-hander David Price (18-7, 2.81 ERA) and a superior Boston team that is looking to get back to being a legitimate World Series contender. Cleveland beat Boston in their final three meetings lat season, but the BoSox beat the Tribe 6-4 the last time Corey Kluber was on the mound. David Price has absolutely nasty stuff and will show the Indians his complete repertoire in this regular season opener while leading Boston to the narrow road win.The Pick: Boston 4 Cleveland 2

Washington at Atlanta

When: Monday, April 4 at 4:10 PM ETWhere: Turner Field, Atlanta, Georgia

Betting Analysis

The Atlanta Braves are expected to win somewhere in the neighborhood of 65 games this coming season while Washington has legitimate World Series hopes that will get underway in earnest with a emphatic win in this NL East divisional battle.Former Cy Young-winning right-hander Max Scherzer (14-12, 2.79 ERA) will take the mound in this contest opposite young Atlanta righty Julio Teheran (11-8, 4.04 ERA) in arguably the biggest mismatch on the Opening Day slate. Scherzer had a solid first season with the Nats last year, but not the kind of campaign expected out of a guy making $21 million dollars a year and I believe that Scherzer wants to get off to a great start this season.I absolutely love the hiring of veteran Dusty Baker to replace Matt Williams and I believe it’s going to do wonders for the Nats’ overall psyche. Washington wins by at least two runs. The Pick: Washington 4 Atlanta 2

L.A. Dodgers at San Diego Padres

When: Monday, April 4 at 7:05 PM ETWhere: Petco Park, San Diego, California

Betting Analysis:

With former Cy Young winning left-hander Clayton Kershaw (17-8, 2.16 ERA) on the mound opposite Padres right-hander Tyson Ross (10-12, 3.31 ERA) in this NL West divisional battle. With their staff ace – and one of the most unhittable pitchers in the game today – taking the mound, the Dodgers are the easy pick for me in this contest, although I do expect the Padres to be better than they were in winning 74 games a year ago.L.A. won two of Kershaw’s final three starts a year ago while not giving up more than three runs in any outing. San Diego lost each of Ross’ last three starts last season while giving up at least four runs in each contest. The Dodgers may not be as good as they were last season, but they get the road win against the perennially-rebuilding Padres in this opener. The Pick: Dodgers 5 Padres 3
