2022 MLB SU Week 16 Betting Picks: Five Great Matches to Not Miss

2022 MLB SU Week 16 Betting Picks: Five Great Matches to Not Miss

It’s going to be a big weekend across the MLB landscape with the trade deadline coming up on Tuesday. Teams like the Red Sox and the Giants have to decide if they are going to be sellers because of their disappointing first half or buyers because of their high hopes.

Other teams such as St. Louis and San Diego also have the weekend to finalize trade packages for a player like Juan Soto or maybe even Shohei Ohtani. Here are some of more intriguing winning SU MLB Betting picks for the weekend.

2022 Winning Straight-Up Picks for the Weekend MLB Betting Action

Cardinals vs Nationals, Friday 7:05 PM ET

St. Louis looks like they are in a great spot for the series opener against Washington, getting Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado back in the lineup after they had to sit out the series against the Blue Jays because of Canada’s vaccine policy.

Cardinals management also gets an up close look at Juan Soto, who they have been rumored to have interest in acquiring at the deadline. Will Soto be flying out with the Cardinals on Sunday?

Brewers at Red Sox, Friday 7:10 PM ET

Milwaukee just averaged seven runs per game in a 5-1 homestand, impressive considering their loss during that stretch was a 2-0 shutout loss to the Rockies. The Brewers hit 12 HRs in their five wins and get to face Boston rookie Brayan Bello who has allowed 14 ER in his first 12.0 IP in the majors. Oh, and the Brewers have Brandon Woodruff on the mound.

Royals at Yankees, Saturday 2:05 PM ET

It’s a solid pitching matchup on paper with Zack Greinke vs Nestor Cortes, especially since Greinke hasn’t allowed a run in his last two home starts. This game is on the road though, and Greinke has given up 9 ER over his last 9 IP on the road. Cortes has also allowed a run or less in three of his last four starts.

Tigers at Blue Jays, Saturday 3:07 PM ET

Toronto is just 12-11 overall in July, but they’ve won 8 of their last 9 heading into the weekend and face a Detroit team who has the fewest road wins in the majors. Ross Stripling is the scheduled Toronto starter and he’s allowed two ER or less in eight of his last nine starts. Detroit’s Drew Hutchison has given up 8 ER in his last 9.1 IP.

Cubs at Giants, Sunday 7:08 PM ET

If they haven’t been dealt by now, the Sunday Night Baseball game could be the last one in Chicago for Willson Contreras, Ian Happ, and a few other Cubs players. Chicago’s starting pitching has improved lately, but Adrian Sampson going up against Carlos Rodon definitely favors the Giants

Rodon will be anxious to bounce back from 5ER allowed to both the Dodgers and Diamondbacks in his last two starts, but both of those were on the road. Rodon is 4-1 with a 2.05 ERA at home this year.
