Before the season began, the general online sports betting consensus was that the AL East might be the most difficult to predict. The Yankees are old and the Red Sox have been unpredictable for a few years now, while the Orioles and Blue Jays were thought to be the teams to beat. Tampa Bay are not really considered a real threat, but might well be good enough to upset the apple cart a little in the division. We are just a week into the season, and the division is already playing out how many expected. The rivalry continues this week with the Yankees and Orioles meeting up for a 3-game series at Camden Yards.

At 3-4, the Orioles have been struggling to put together any sort of early season consistency, which is something they will need to put right if they are to compete in the AL East. They started out with a series win over the Rays before losing the next series versus the Blue Jays. Their first meeting with the Yankees on Monday night did not go according to plan, as they lost 6-5 for their second straight loss. The teams will meet again on Tuesday night before Bud Norris takes to the mound for his second start of the season on Wednesday. His first game was nothing short of a nightmare, as the Blue Jays lit him up for 8 runs in just 3 innings. The O’s will be hoping that start was an aberration, and that Norris can get back to the form that saw him pick up 15 wins last season. As mentioned, no-one is really expecting much from the aging Yankees this year, but they do look as though they are going to be entertaining to watch. Their games to this point have been of the high scoring variety, with a comedy of errors on display along the way. They will send Nathan Eovaldi to the mound on Wednesday, and it’s tough to know what to expect after his first start. He came out throwing bullets in the 6-5 loss to the Red Sox, but he had issues with control over hid 5.1 innings, with 2 wild pitches and a hit batter included in his stats.
