These two have been solid on the mound, and the total for the game is just 6.5. The Marlins were a surprise early, but have struggled as of late. For San Diego, their 17-9 start is one of the best in the National League.  Look for a little offense off these two elite pitchers. In the end, this should be a great game leading to a fun weekend in beautiful San Diego.

St. Louis Cardinals at San Francisco Giants – Saturday May 7, 2022

Logan Webb goes for the San Francisco Giants. He is a guy that has emerged as one of the toughest pitchers in the National League to square up. He will take on lefthander Steven Matz for the Cardinals. Matz has come to St. Louis and won three out of his first four decisions for the Cardinals. Matz is prone to give up a bunch of hits, so the pesky Giants offense will need to be ready to swing the bat, and good things could happen. We expect this to be a competitive game, as the Giants bullpen could be a little taxed after a long night on Thursday. These two teams will wrap up their series Sunday, but expect this to be a good one Saturday night.

Milwaukee Brewers at Atlanta Braves – Saturday May 7, 2022

Corbin Burnes will go for the Brewers, and Max Fried for the Braves. The demise of the Milwaukee Brewers was pretty over exaggerated. In fact, Milwaukee has been one of the best teams in the National League. The Brewers are 18-8 and lead the National League Central. Atlanta has gotten off to a slow start, but not many are too worried about the defending World Series Champions. There will be plenty of guys that can hit in this game, but in the end, the starting pitching and bullpen should win out in this one. Look for a bunch of swing and misses to happen, with 70 combined strikeouts in 62 innings for the starters. Low scoring Saturday affair here!

Tampa Bay Rays at Seattle Mariners – Sunday May 8, 2022

Chris Flexen has gotten off to a slow start as far as wins and losses for the Seattle Mariners, but he is a guy that many overlook. The3 guy has a 3.10 earned run average, and will throw at home against the Rays here. Ryan Yarbrough goes for Tampa Bay, and has thrown just 2.1 innings so far in 2022. Look for a bullpen game, and offenses to come alive in the middle innings of this one. Two pesky teams get together for the final game of the series in Seattle.
