Top MLB Series to Wager On the Weekend: Mets vs Dodgers Betting Analysis

The top two teams in the National League will collide this weekend as the New York Mets will head across the country to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers in a three-game series this weekend.

The Mets currently have the best record in the National League at 35-17, while the Dodgers are 33-17. The Mets lead the NL East by a whopping 10.5 games, while the Dodgers hold a three-game lead in the NL West.

Both of these teams are playing well to start the season, and both look like they are bound for the playoffs. We could possibly see these two meet in the National League Championship Series. The Mets are 8-2 in their last ten games, while the Dodgers have a 6-4 record in their last 10. Let’s take a look at the weekend series between Mets vs Dodgers, as this will be a good series to place some bets on the MLB betting odds.

Potential NLCS Preview

The Matchups

On Friday night, the Mets will send Chris Bassitt to the mound, while the Dodgers will counter with Tyler Anderson. Bassitt, who was acquired from the Oakland A’s in the offseason, is off to a 4-2 start.

He has an ERA of 3.66 while striking out 60 in his 59 innings pitched. In his last start, he went six strong innings against the Phillies, giving up one earned run while striking out seven in a no-decision.

Anderson has been a huge surprise for the Dodgers. He has a 6-0 record with a 2.90 ERA. Anderson was tremendous in his last outing. Earning a win over the Diamondbacks, he went six innings, allowing no earned runs while striking out six.

We’ll see David Peterson take the mound for the Mets, and he will square off against Dodgers ace Walker Buehler. Peterson is 2-0 with a 3.03 ERA on the season. He wasn’t projected to be in the Mets rotation this season, but he has come on and done a great job for the Mets.

Buehler is having another stellar season. He’s 6-1 with a 3.22 ERA this season. In his last start against the Pirates, Buehler wasn’t particularly sharp. He gave up four earned runs in his six innings pitched. We’ll see if he can rebound.

In the series finale on Sunday, the Mets will send journeyman Trevor Williams to the mound to take on Julio Urias. With all of the injuries to the Mets’ starting staff, Williams has been thrown into action.

Even though he’s just 1-3 on the season, he’ll be coming off of his best start of the season. In his last start against the Washington Nationals, Williams threw five shutout innings. We’ll see if he can duplicate that start against Los Angeles.

Julio Urias will be on the hill for the Dodgers. Urias is 3-5 on the season with a 2.89 ERA. Urias has been the victim of a lack of run support in a few of his starts. He still has electric stuff and can be dominating, but he just hasn’t gotten the run support that he has needed.

Urias struggled in his last start, a loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates. He gave up four earned runs in his six innings pitched.
