PFL 2021 Regular Season Week 3 Betting Odds & Predictions

Written by on May 5, 2021

This Thursday night will see us reach the midway point of the 2021 PFL season, with just 3 more weeks to go after this event. For those of you not familiar with the PFL format, let’s do a quick rundown. The regular season runs 6 weeks, with the top 4 fighters in each weight division moving onto the playoffs, which will come later in the year. Points are awarded for a win, with bonus points given for the round in which the fight was ended. There is a lot still to play for over the next few weeks, with the ladies getting in on the action starting on Thursday night. There are 4 fights on the Week 3 main card, so let’s get right to the previews and picks along with their MMA odds.

MMA Betting Preview for PFL 3: Werdum Vs Ferreira

Larissa Pacheco (-500) Vs Julija Pajic (+350)

The women’s Lightweight competition is limited to the Lightweight division, with this being the first fight of the tournament for them. Pacheco is 13-4, but she comes into this one on the heels of a loss, which means that she has now lost 3 of her last 5 fights. Pajic is still very new to the professional fight game, and while she has looked dominant in winning her first 3 fights, she could be up against it here. I have Pacheco getting the win, but this one might go the distance.

Mohammed Usman (-370) Vs Brandon Sayles (+270)

It will be the big men stepping into the octagon next, with a pair of Heavyweights set to go to war over 3 rounds. Usman is a little more experienced than his opponent, going 7-1 through his first 8 career fights and coming into this one on a 4-fight win streak. Sayles has won 3 in a row, with all of those wins coming inside the distance, to take his pro career mark to 5-1. These guys are going to come out swinging, but I believe it will be Usman who gets the KO win.

Kayla Harrison (-2000) Vs Mariana Morais (+900)

You need only look at the odds for this one to see that we might be looking at a fight that could well be over quickly. Harrison comes into this one as the current PFL Lightweight champion, going a perfect 8-0 in her pro career. Morais has been around for a while and has put together a 16-10 record, but she has been streaky at times. She is on a 3-fight win streak ahead of this bout. Streak or not, I think she falls via submission to Harrison.

Fabricio Werdum (-260) Vs Renan Ferreira (+200)

The headline event of the night is another battle of the Heavyweights and one that features a big name in MMA. Werdum is now 43 years of age and is making the move to the PFL from the UFC, coming into this one with a 24-9-1 record. He has a ton more experience than Ferreira, but at 6-2 to start his career, this is a fighter that should not be overlooked. You do have to wonder how much Werdum has left in the tank, but I believe he has enough to get the submission win here.
