It’s another big weekend in the world of NASCAR, with the drivers heading to Talladega for the next round of action. In the Xfinity Series, we are heading into Race 8 of the season, and from what we have seen thus far, we could perhaps expect a surprise or two in the Ag-Pro 300, which is set to go at 4 PM EST on Saturday afternoon. It is still tight at the top of the standings, especially after a longshot won it last week, with Josh berry taking the checkered flag at Martinsville. Let’s take a closer look at some of the favorites for this weekend to win the Ag-Pro 300 so you can place your bets against their NASCAR odds.
NASCAR Xfinity Series: 2021 Ag-Pro 300 Betting Analysis
AJ Allmendinger (+700)
Allmendinger has spent much of his career bouncing between different series, but he seems to be solely focused on the Xfinity Series this season, starting all 7 races to this point. Allmendinger has made a very solid start to the season, winning once and landing in the top 5 in 4 different races. That is good enough to have him sitting in 6th in the overall standings right now. Allmendinger only raced in a handful of Xfinity Series races last season, but he did have 2 runs at Talladega, finishing 7th and 24th, respectively. Not particularly great, but it’s his current form that has him among the favorites.
Justin Haley (+700)
Haley heads to Talladega looking for his first win of the season, but there is every reason to believe that this could be the place where he gets the job done. It has not been a poor start to the season for Haley despite not winning, as he has 5 top 10 finishes through the first 7 races. It is his form at Talladega that has him in as one of the favorites and considered by many to be the guy to beat. Haley raced there twice last season and won both times, so you can’t really ask for any better than that. Tough to win 3 in a row, but I think he might just pull it off.
Austin Cindric (+800)
If you want to talk about consistency in the early going, you need to talk about Austin Cindric. All the pressure was on his shoulders coming into the season, as he started as the defending champion. If he is feeling that pressure, he certainly isn’t showing it, as he has already won twice and finished in the top 5 in two other races. His last outing at Talladega was poor, but we can perhaps toss that one out, as he had a pair of top 5 finishes at that track in the two races prior to that poor showing. This is a driver that always seems to be up among the leaders.
Harrison Burton (+900)
In his first full season in the Xfinity Series last year, Burton did very well, finishing 8th overall in the driver standings. He is ahead of the pace in 2021 and comes into this weekend sitting in 3rd overall, so he will be looking to keep that going and maintain his assault on the top of the standings. While he has made a decent start to the year, you do have to be a little concerned about his races at Talladega last season, where he was a non-factor in both. He may be among the favorites, but I still see him as a longshot on Saturday.
I have read enough, I need to place my bet now. What to do?
