2021 Daytona 500 Odds Update Jan. 19 – NASCAR Betting

Written by on January 19, 2021

It is now less than a month until the drivers rev their engines, and we see the start of the NASCAR season. The Daytona 500 will serve as the opening race of the 2021 season, which promises to be exciting as always. It’s always good to jump out to a fast start on the season, with every driver looking to perform well and set the tone for what they hope will be a positive year. The opening race of the season is always a bit of a crapshoot, but we do know that there are certain drivers who always seem to perform well at Daytona. Let’s take a look at some of the favorites for the Daytona 500, which is set for February 14th so you can continue planning your bets and place them against their NASCAR odds.

Updated Odds to Win the 2021 Daytona 500

Denny Hamlin (+800)

Hamlin may well be coming into this season with a little bit of a chip on his shoulder, as he looked for the longest time as though he was in with a shot at winning it all last year. He did make it into the final four, but he was not able to get the job done, so you can bet that he will be fired up and ready to take another crack at the title. He certainly has a good shot at getting off to a fast start, as he has won at Daytona in 3 of his last 5 races, while landing in the top 10 in 9 of his last 14 at this track. He is well worth a look at this price.

Joey Logano (+800)

It’s fair to say that Joey Logano flew under the radar for most of last season. He only picked up 3 wins on the year, but he was a consistent performer in getting into the top 10, accumulating enough points to make it all the way into the final four. He ended up 3rd in the overall driver standings. He will head to Daytona as a previous winner back in 2015, but he is consistent there, too, finishing in the top 10 on 3 different occasions since then. His last race at Daytona was not great, but I think we can toss that one out.

Chase Elliott (+900)

The driver entering the season with the biggest target on his back is almost certainly Chase Elliott. The defending champion needs to put the success of last season in the rearview and focus on getting back to the top in 2021. This is a track that has not been kind to Elliott over the years, though, as he failed to crack the top 10 at Daytona until running 2nd there last August. Was that an aberration or a sign that he is ready to master this track?

Brad Keselowski (+900)

I have to say that I am more than a little surprised to see Keselowski in among the favorites here, as Daytona has been a bit of a nightmare track for him over the years. Yes, he won there back in 2016, but in the 8 races that he has run there since then, he has been involved in an accident 6 times. He did crack the top 10 there last time out, so maybe his bad luck has run out.
