Buckle Up In Your Truck 225 – NASCAR Odds & Picks

Written by on July 9, 2020

With the resumption of the NASCAR season going so well, the move was made to add a couple of more races to the upcoming schedule, with NASCAR once again option got go with doubleheaders at certain tracks. We may still not yet get the full race season that we normally do, but it is going to be close and will make the eventual champion feel like a legitimate one. This weekend, we head to the Kentucky Speedway for another full set of races, including the Buckle Up in Your Truck 225, which is part of the Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series. This will be the 7th race on the season for the truck drivers and we have a tight little race going at the top of the driver standings. Let’s take a closer look at some of the favorites for this race, which goes off at 6 PM on Saturday so you can plan ahead your bets against their NASCAR odds.

NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series – Buckle Up In Your Truck 225

Austin Hill (+330)

Whenever you are looking at possible favorites for any given race, you need to have the person atop the Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series driver standings in the mix. It is Austin Hill who is in that position right now, and while he has been incredibly consistent through his first 6 races of the season, he has yet to take a checkered flag. Hill has landed in the top 10 in each of the 6 races, including 3 in the top 5, but that first win of the season has eluded him to this point. You do feel that the first win is coming, but will it happen this weekend?

Christian Eckes (+550)

It is, perhaps, a little surprising to see Eckes in as one of the favorites for this race, as he has yet to race at Kentucky in his 3 seasons in the Truck Series. Eckes has not raced a ton over those 3 seasons, but when he does race, he tends to do well. He has landed in the top 10 in 9 of his 18 career races, including a pair of top 10 finishes this season. His best performance this year came in Atlanta, where he finished in 3rd. He is a bit of a dark horse, but I think I would be looking elsewhere for the winner.

Brett Moffitt (+550)

Moffitt has been splitting time between the Truck Series and the Xfinity Series this season and has been seeing some success in both. He has yet to pick up a win in either series, but he has certainly been knocking on the door. Moffitt has had 3 top 10 finishes in his last 4 races, so he is in some good form ahead of this one. His best finish at Kentucky came last season when he landed in 7th. Prior to that, 14th had been his best finish at this track.

Johnny Sauter (+800)

I am going to go with a bit of an outside shot here and take Sauter to win this race on Saturday. Yes, I am well aware that he is yet to win this season, but of the drivers listed among the favorites, his record at Kentucky is far and away the best. He routinely lands in the top 10 when he races there and is along overdue for a win at that track.
