It seems like just yesterday when we watched Chase Elliott become NASCAR champion, but here we are now just a little over a month away from the start of the new season. That will come on Valentine’s Day when the new season begins with the Daytona 500. It’s still very early in the proceedings, but the odds for the Daytona 500 are already on the board. We may well see these odds change in the weeks leading up to the start of the race, so if you have a driver that you like, now might be the time to get in, as these may be the best odds that you get. With that said, let’s take a look at the early favorites for the 2021 Daytona 500 so you can start planning your bets and place them against their NASCAR odds.
NASCAR Betting | Really Early 2021 Daytona 500 entry list odds
Denny Hamlin (+700)
For the longest time last season, it looked as though Denny Hamlin might be the driver to finish on top, but he came up just short. Hamlin will be coming into this season feeling as though he has something to prove, and what better way to do that than starting the season with a win at Daytona. There is certainly a very good reason why Hamlin should be in as the favorite for this race, as this is a track that he has historically done very well at. He has in fact won 3 of the last 5 runs at the Daytona 500. He has also finished in the top 10 in 9 of his last 14 runs at Daytona.
Joey Logano (+700)
Logano was another driver who had a very good season in 2020, finishing 3rd overall in the driver standings. He only had 3 wins on the season last year, but it was his consistency throughout the year that had him in a position to win heading into the final race of the season. Logano does have a history at the Daytona, winning it back in 2015. He has also had a trio of top 10 finishes at Daytona since then, an while he had a poor run there last season, his track record suggests that he should be among the favorites.
Chase Elliott (+800)
It goes without saying that 2020 was a breakthrough season for Elliott, as he came from off the pace to make a playoff push that took him all the way to a championship. Ironically enough, we got a little glimpse of what was to come at Daytona. In 9 races at Daytona, Elliott had never cracked the top 10, with 14th being his previous best finish. When he raced there again last August, he finished second, so perhaps his struggles at this track are finally over.
Ryan Blaney (+1000)
Blaney had 1 win on the season in 2020, but did enough to make it to the playoffs, falling just short of the Round of 8. With that in mind, it may seem odd that he is in amongst the favorites for the upcoming Daytona 500, but this is a race that he seems to love. He finished second here last year, just as he did in 2017, so he certainly cannot be counted out.
