NASCAR 2022 Pennzoil 150 Odds Favorites, Betting Analysis and Picks

We are at the stage of the NASCAR season where the race to the playoffs is really beginning to tighten up. In the Xfinity Series, there are 7 more races to come before we see the field cut to the top 12 drivers. That final stretch of races begins this weekend in Indianapolis for the Pennzoil 150 at the Brickyard. This is a road course race, which should prevent a real challenge for some drivers, while giving others the opportunity to excel on a course they love. The top handful of drivers will almost certainly be making the cut, but there are others down near the cut line who will be well aware that they need to pick up points if they are to continue their dream of winning an Xfinity Series championship. Let’s look ahead to this race along with the NASCAR Xfinity Series Odds, which is set to go at 3:30 PM EST on Saturday afternoon.

NASCAR Xfinity Series Betting Preview for Explore the Pennzoil 150 at The Brickyard Race

Ty Gibbs +400

After winning the ARCA Menard’s Series in 2021, Gibbs decided to make the leap to a full-time spot in the Xfinity Series, where he currently sits #1 in the driver standings. Gibbs also dipped his toe into the Cup Series last weekend, landing a top 20 finish in that one. At just 19 years of age, Gibbs has a huge future ahead of him and you do have to wonder how long it will be before he makes the permanent move to the Cup Series. That is a discussion for later, though, as this season is all about trying to win a championship in the Xfinity Series. Gibbs has 3 wins under his belt this season, including a victory on a road course.

Justin Allgaier +1600

Allgaier comes into this weekend sitting in 2nd in the driver standings, and while he would like to win the regular season title, 2022 is all about Allgaier finally making the breakthrough and winning the title that has eluded him all these years. He has had a number of close calls during his time in the Xfinity Series and most fans would probably be happy to finally see him get that first championship. Over the last couple of seasons, Allgaier has finished 11th and 7th, respectively in this race, so this may not be the week where he takes the checkered flag.

Noah Gragson +1400

When you are in professional sports, you need to learn to be able to pick yourself up after getting knocked down. Gragson certainly took a tough blow after being fined and dicked 30 points for his part in a race earlier this season, but he has done a nice job of shaking it off and moving on, although you do have to say that the deduction did not have a huge impact on the standings. Either way, Gragson did what he had to do and got back on the winner’s podium in Pocono last weekend. He has been top 5 in each of his last 3 runs on this track, so watch out for him on Saturday.

AJ Allmendinger +400

Allmendinger ended up finishing 4th in his first full season in the Xfinity Series last year and is in the exact same position as we draw ever nearer to the end of this season. Allmendinger has a pair of wins on the season and is coming off a very decent 4th place finish is Pocono last weekend. He finished 2nd in this corresponding race in 2021 and 4th in the previous year, so I would certainly consider throwing some money his way on Saturday.
