NASCAR South Point 400 Odds Favorites and Preview – Cup Series Betting Analysis

There are still more races to come before we know who will end the season as the Cup Series champion. One thing we know for sure is that it will be a new champion crowned this time around, with Kyle Larson failing to make it into the Round of 8. The next 3 races will see the final 8 cut in half prior to the final and deciding race of the season, but who will be the one to win it all? You would have to feel good about Chase Elliott, especially since he is a recent champion and knows what it takes to get the job done. That said, there are 7 other drivers in with a shot at winning and moving on in the South Point 400 in Las Vegas this coming Sunday. Let’s take a look at the current top 4 drivers so you can get ready to place your bets against their NASCAR Odds.

NASCAR Cup Series Betting Preview for the 2022 South Point 400 Race

Chase Elliott

As we already mentioned, Elliott is a recent champion, winning the Cup Series back in 2020. He is sitting on top with 4 races to come and is in with a real shot at getting his 2nd title in 3 years. It certainly helps that Elliott has won more races than any other driver this season, with 5 victories already under his belt. He also leads the way in top 5 finishes with 12, so if he does go on to win it all again, you have to say that he is more than deserving. Elliott finished 2nd in this race last season, plus he had a top 10 finish there earlier in the season.

Joey Logano

There is more than one way to win a championship, and sometimes it comes without the driver in question ending the season with a ton of wins. As it stands right now, Logano is sitting 2nd in the driver standings, all despite only having 2 wins on the season. He has not picked up a victory in the playoffs, but Logano has been consistent in picking up points and sticking close to the leaders in the driver standings. Logano has only cracked the top 10 once in his last 4 runs in Las Vegas.

Ross Chastain

This is only the 2nd full season in the Cup Series for Chastain, but with 4 races to come, he is very much in the hunt to become champion. Chastain is currently sitting in 3rd in the driver standings and has a pair of wins on the season. He is probably considered by most to be a longshot to become champion, but one win in the next 3 races will put him in with a real shot at pulling off what would be a huge upset. Chastain finished 3rd at Las Vegas earlier in the season, so don’t count him out here,

Christopher Bell

Bell forced his way into the top 4 with a win at Roval last weekend, and now has to be considered a serious threat to win a championship in just his 3rd full season with the Cup Series. That was just his second win on the season, but it certainly came at the right time. He had a top 10 finish at Las Vegas earlier this season, but that win last week might just spur him on to greater things in the final few weeks.
