This coming weekend, we will have 8 drivers heading to Martinsville with a shot at heading into the final 4 ahead of the last race of the season. 4 of those drivers are going to leave empty-handed after the final cut of the season. The only one of the 8 to have secured a spot in the final 4 is Kyle Larson, but we will get into more about that in a moment. For the remaining drivers, it’s a win and move on scenario, while those who do not take the checkered flag hope they pick up enough points at Martinsville to make the final race of the season count. We can expect some craziness this coming weekend and we will get into the race details a little later in the week. For now, let’s see who MyBookie thinks are the favorites to win it all so you can make your bets against their NASCAR Championship odds.
2021 Championship odds for Cup Series | NASCAR Betting Analysis
Kyle Larson (+170)
2021 has been a season of redemption for Larson after missing the majority of last season with a suspension. He has put his head down this year and gone about his business in a clinical manner, winning 9 races. At this stage of the season, drivers hope to get hot and there is no one hotter than Larson right now, as he comes into this weekend on a 3-race winning streak. He can now relax a little, safe in the knowledge that he will be racing for a chance to become champion next weekend, but do any of you really expect him to take his foot off the gas right now?
Chase Elliott (+280)
It doesn’t matter what sport we talk about, repeating as the champion is about as tough as it gets. Chase Elliott was a bit of a surprise winner in 2020, but he is proving that it was no fluke, as he is currently sitting 2nd in the driver standings. There is zero guarantee that he will stay there, but you do have to like the playoff experience that he brings to the table after his successful run last year. He doesn’t need to win this weekend, but it would certainly make things a good deal more comfortable if he could take that checkered flag.
Denny Hamlin (+320)
At this stage of last season, we were all talking about the strong likelihood of Hamlin winning it all after a stellar season. While he did make it into the final 4 in 2020, Hamlin lost a bit of his mojo in the playoffs and ended up coming up just a little short. He is taking the opposite road in 2021, which might just bode well for his chances. He went the entire regular season without picking up a win, but he has now won twice in the playoffs and looking like a legitimate threat.
Martin Truex Jr. (+700)
Consistency means everything in this sport, and that can be seen by taking a look at Truex Jr. He is currently sitting 6th in the driver standing despite having won more races (4) than 4 of the guys currently sitting ahead of him. Those top 5 and top 10 points add up quickly, and it has been that consistency that has those other drivers sitting ahead of him. The one thing on his side this weekend is that he has won 3 of his last 4 at Martinsville, so betting against him to win and move on might be a good idea.
