Why Bet On Milwaukee?

There are a bunch of good reasons to back the Bucks in this contest starting with the fact that they’ve been the best team in the NBA since opening night. Milwaukee will also be looking to avoid their second loss in their last three games after bouncing back from their humbling 127-115 defeat against Denver on Friday to lay a 129-108 smackdown on the Phoenix Suns on Sunday. Giannis Antetokounmpo put up a game-high 30 points and 19 rebounds while dishing out nine assists. Veteran center Brook Lopez scored 17 points and recorded nine blocked shots while Khris Middleton added 25 points on 9-of-15 shooting.

“It’s a delicate balance,” Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer told reporters. “We try to play with a lot of pace and play with a lot of spacing. Between Brook and Khris and Giannis, try to get them in the post. Get Bled in the pick-and-roll game. Hopefully we can continue to nurture that, and (Lopez) can be a threat that way.”

The Bucks lead the league in scoring (120.0 ppg) while ranking sixth in points allowed (115.1 ppg). Milwaukee has gone a blistering 19-4 on the road this season.

Why Bet On New Orleans?

The best reason to back the Pelicans for the upset is because New Orleans has clearly been playing better ever since prized rookie Zion Williamson made his debut six games ago on Jan. 22. The Pelicans had won three straight until falling to Houston 117-109 on Sunday. New Orleans All-Star small forward Brandon Ingram posted a team-high 28 points and 12 rebounds in the loss but went scoreless in the fourth quarter while admitting that the team is still trying to incorporate the gifted Williamson.

“That’s something that we’re figuring out,” Ingram told reporters. “Some of that has to come from the coaches and the execution of putting him in the right positions to score the basketball on the block or wherever he wants the basketball, keeping that rhythm the same as we go through the first to the fourth quarter.”Williamson scored 21 points and added 10 rebounds on Sunday and is averaging 19.5 points on 61.5 percent shooting through his first six games. Unfortunately, the high-fling former Duke sensation went nearly four minutes in the fourth quarter without touching the ball.

“You gotta throw him the damn basketball,” head coach Alvin Gentry said after the loss. “I mean it has nothing to do with playing together, figuring it out. He’s got an advantage and we gotta find a way to get him the basketball down there. So, I’m not buying the playing together or figuring out anything like that. We have to have him have touches in the fourth quarter.”

New Orleans is ranked an impressive sixth in scoring (115.1 ppg) but just 28th in points allowed (117.1 ppg). The Pelicans have gone 10-15 on their home floor.

Bucks vs Pelicans Expert Analysis and Prediction

While New Orleans has put up a bunch of gaudy ATS trends like going 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games following a straight up loss and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a winning road record, I love the manageable spread here for a Milwaukee Bucks team that has gone 6-2 ATS in their last 8 road games against a team with a losing home record and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games after scoring more than 125 points in their previous game. New Orleans is awful defensively and Milwaukee will be focused after losing a few nights ago. I like the Bucks to win and cover the chalk with room to spare!
