NBA ready to start season with the pandemic raging across the nation

As cases rise across the United States, players, coaches, and NBA executives have provided various opinions on what to do. Most feel that if everyone sticks to the protocols the league has developed, the season will continue as planned.

The two most intriguing statements came from the Boston Celtics’ Jaylen Brown and the Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James. Brown said that he’s not sure if traveling, staying in different cities, and sticking to the protocols will last.

Brown is also worried that there doesn’t appear to be a Plan B. He stressed that he doesn’t know if the league will shut down the season, go to a bubble, or continue playing. Jaylen made some great points.

LeBron took a somewhat different approach. He stressed that if players want the season to play out without few, hopefully zero, interruptions, they must take responsibility for themselves and their families.

From LeBron’s point-of-view, wearing a mask when you’re outside or traveling, and sticking to the rules should prevent a major outbreak from happening. If everyone sticks to the rules, per King James, the league won’t suffer something drastic.

LeBron’s glass half full viewpoint is the one most everyone should adopt. Hopefully, his fellow players listen to him.

Where could James Harden land?

It’s no secret that one of the best players in the league, James “The Beard” Harden, wants out of Houston. Harden wants to play for the 76ers, which could happen because Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid play for Philadelphia.

The Sixers could put together a package that sends James to the City of Brotherly Love. A couple of other teams that may go for Harden are the Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets, because the Nets have already tired of Kyrie Irving’s antics, and the Chicago Bulls.

The Denver Nuggets, Miami Heat, and Golden State Warriors may also make a play for James Harden, but it’s difficult to see any of those teams looking to trade for The Beard. Denver loves it’s combination of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. The Heat have great chemistry and won’t want to break up their nucleus.

The Warriors won’t part with Steph Curry, at least it doesn’t look like they will. Not only that, but outside of Steph, Golden State may not have as much to offer as everyone believes.

A few teams that won’t make moves to acquire Harden are the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, and Dallas Mavericks. Those teams are set with their superstars, meaning they’ll build around their current top player or players.

Have a great week!
