Lakers lose LeBron indefinitely, remain a +250 underlay

Although the Lakers aren’t out of the playoffs yet, things could go south in a hurry. Heck, things have already gone south for the defending champs.

Anthony Davis won’t return until mid-April. The Lakers had discussed keeping Davis out until possibly May because they believed not-risking further injury was more important than playoff position.

Those plans are out the window. Last week, LeBron James suffered a high-ankle sprain. James is out indefinitely.

Most Laker fans don’t believe it’s time to panic. We’re telling those fans, that, yes, it is time to panic. Why? The Western Conference is so deep that the current 8-seed, the Dallas Mavericks, are 4 ½ games behind the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Golden State Warriors in ninth place are six games behind the Lakers. How many games will Los Angeles win without both Anthony Davis and LeBron? How many games will the Lakers win with only Anthony Davis?

Since LeBron’s injury, the Lakers have dropped 3 in a row. Two of the games were against Atlanta and New Orleans, they would have dominated if AD and the King were healthy.

LJ’s injury is an issue. At +250, the Lakers may be the greatest underlay to win the title in NBA history.

Rockets looking to trade Victor Oladipo and LaMelo Ball has season-ending surgery

Lonzo Ball and Kyle Lowry are on the block. The most interesting player, though, could be Houston Rockets’ guard Victor Oladipo.

When Oladipo is healthy he can pretty much score at will. Houston’s likely trading partner are the New York Knicks.

The Knicks send the best defense in the NBA to the court. Oladipo would provide much required scoring. If Oladipo ends up a Knick, who knows? Maybe, NYK makes playoff waves this season instead of next.

The Charlotte Hornets franchise player, and last year’s number one draft pick, is out for the season. LaMelo Ball underwent surgery on Tuesday to repair a fractured wrist.

Ball won’t return this season, which means Charlotte may miss the playoffs. The good news? LaMelo should have no problem coming back one-hundred percent.

Expect the Clippers to make a deal before the March 25 trade deadline

One team that is likely to make a deal before the deadline are the Los Angeles Clippers. We know this because the Clippers have an open spot on their roster.

Many basketball fans, including Stephen A at ESPN, believe the Clippers trade for New Orleans Pelicans’ point guard Lonzo Ball. Lonzo doesn’t have the skills brother LaMelo possesses.

His stats are decent, though. Ball averages over 14 points, more than 4 boards, and close to 6 assists per. No doubt, Lonzo would help the Clippers, but is he the best choice to fill the roster spot?

If the Clippers are looking for a point guard, why not make a play for one of Kawhi’s former teammates? Kyle Lowry is on the block. He’d be a perfect fit.

With Lowry, the Clippers could move Patrick Beverly to shooting guard. Then PG-13 could start at power forward and LAC could bring Markieff Morris off the bench. The Clippers could play an entire second-five with Reggie Jackson and Lou Williams at the guard positions, Luke Kennard at small forward, Morris at power, and Ivan Zubac at center.

Sending a full second-five to the court would make the Clippers difficult to handle. If you’re an LAC fan, your hope is that the Clippers are looking to acquire Lowry before Lonzo Ball.
