Let’s examine a few matchups and provide you with the NBA top picks for this coming week.

NBA Over and Under Betting Picks of the Week 17 | Second Half 2022/23 NBA Season

Houston Rockets vs. Oklahoma City Thunder OVER

When: Monday, February 13th, 2023
Where: Wells Fargo Center

Time: 7:00 PM ET
TV: ATTSN Southwest / fuboTV

The Houston Rockets (13-43) head to Oklahoma City to take on the Thunder (27-28) for Western Conference matchup on Wednesday, February 15th. Both of these teams have struggled and will be looking to put up big numbers on Wednesday.

Defense is non-existent for both of these teams, and they both have young players that can shoot the ball. The last time these two teams played, they scored a combined 274 points, way over the 231.5-point total.

Additionally, the Oklahoma Thunder has gone over the total in each of their last four contests and five of their last six. By the same token, the Houston Rockets have seen four of their last five games go over the number. This matchup is a safe bet to go over the number in this one.

Los Angeles Clippers vs. Phoenix Suns UNDER

When: Thursday, February 16th, 2023
Where: Footprint Center

Time: 10:00 PM ET
TV: TNT

The Los Angeles Clippers (31-28) visit Footprint Arena to take on the new-look Phoenix Suns (31-27) for a Thursday night matchup. It will be interesting to see how Kevin Durant assimilates to the new Suns lineup while the veterans adjust to life without Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, and Jae Crowder. Meanwhile, the one thing the Clippers do very well is play defense.

Both of these teams are one of the strongest performing “under” teams in the league, with the Clippers holding the best record going under the point total in 34 of their 59 games, while the Suns have gone under the total in 30 of their 58 games.

In addition to being one of the top defensive teams in the league, the Clippers have also gone under the total in back-to-back games and four of their last six, while the Suns have gone under in back-to-back games as well and in four of their last five.

Golden State Warriors vs. Los Angeles Lakers OVER

When: Thursday, February 23rd, 2023
Where: Crypto.com Arena

Time: 10:00 PM ET
TV: TNT

The Golden State Warriors (28-28) and the Los Angeles Lakers (26-31) square off for a Thursday Night matchup at Crypto Arena. Both of these squads are battling for a playoff spot in the Western Conference, and fans should expect a solid matchup between two historic franchises.

The Warriors are one of the flashiest and highest-scoring teams in the league that features two-time MVP Stephen Curry (24.5ppg) and fellow splash brothers Klay Thompson (21.4ppg) and Jordan Poole (20.9). The Lakers have also vastly improved, adding D’Angelo Russell, Rui Hachimura, and Jared Vanderbilt.

We like this matchup to go over the point total in this matchup. The Lakers should see their point total lowered with Lebron James dealing with a foot injury, while the Warriors are battling for a spot in the playoffs. Neither of these teams like to play defense, so this is the time for both teams to put up huge numbers; therefore, expect the total to go over in this one.
