Why Bet on Sacramento?
The Kings held serve at home after winning Game 2 114-106 on Monday. After a Klay Thompson 3-pointer pulled the Warriors within one point, 102-101, with 3:11 remaining, the Kings closed the game with a 12-5 run to earn a 2-0 series lead.
De’Aaron Fox accounted for 24, nine assists, five rebounds and four steals. Fox was at his best during the fourth quarter, shooting 5-of-9 from the field to help the Kings pull away. While the Warriors were able to keep Fox’s scoring in check after he put up 38 in Game 1, he dished out nine assists to just two turnovers.
Fox won the NBA 2022-23 Clutch Player of the Year award on Tuesday, the first year the award has been given out. He led the NBA in “clutch” scoring at 5.0 points per game in the regular season. He shot 52.9 percent from the field when the scoring margin was within five points with five or fewer minutes remaining.
Fellow All-Star Domantas Sabonis shot 8-of-12 from the field and 8-of-12 from the foul line in Monday’s win, totaling 24 points with nine rebounds and four assists. After shooting 5-of-17 from the field and scoring 12 points in Saturday’s Game 1 victory, Sabonis was better offensively in Game 2. While he did continue to play after taking a Draymond Green foot to the chest with just over seven minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Sabonis underwent X-rays after the game. Sabonis is questionable for Game 2 but no one really thinks he will sit out.
This season, Sabonis ranked first in double-doubles (65), second in RPG and first in total rebounds while sitting second in triple-doubles (14), 14th in APG and 10th in FG%. The seventh-year center-forward averaged 19.1 points, 12.3 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game as he is on pace to become the fourth player in NBA history to notch averages of 18.6 points, 12.2 rebounds and 7.0 assists.
The Kings finished with the best road record in the Western Conference during the regular season at 25-16 and tied with Boston and Philadelphia for the second-best mark in the NBA, just one game behind Milwaukee at 26-15.

Why Bet on Golden State?
For the first time since 2007 the Warriors find themselves down 0-2 in a playoff series. The Warriors will be without the suspended Draymond Green for Game 3. Sacramento center Domantas Sabonis was on the ground after the missed shot in the fourth quarter, and he grabbed Green’s foot from there. He was assessed a flagrant-1 foul for that, but Green, in frustration, stomped on Sabonis’ chest while he was still on the ground. Green was assessed a flagrant-2 foul and ejected from the game as a result.
Green’s punishment was for his past as much as his present. The NBA said as much in its announcement that Green will miss Game 3: “The suspension,” the NBA noted, “was based in part on Green’s history of unsportsmanlike acts.” He was infamously suspended during the 2016 NBA Finals, when Green received a flagrant-1 foul at the end of Game 4 for hitting LeBron James in the groin.
Green attempted to justify what happened by claiming he had nowhere else to put his foot, and that the officials were letting the Kings grab him. “My leg got grabbed,” Green said. “Second time in two nights. Referees just watch it. I gotta land my foot somewhere and I’m not the most stretchable person, so I’m not stretching that far. I can only step so far before pulling my leg away.”
Steph Curry led Golden State with 28 points on 9-for-21 shooting in the Game 2 loss. He missed 10 three-pointers, including an airball late in the fourth quarter. Curry is facing a 2-0 hole for the first time in his playoff career. Klay Thompson was the more efficient of Golden State’s starting guards, as he shot 7-of-13 from the field and finished with 21 points, five rebounds and three assists.
Curry needs 14 points to tie Scottie Pippen (3,642) for 17th on the NBA Playoffs all-time points scored list. At 16th is Dirk Nowitzki at 3,663 career playoff points. Curry is the Warriors franchise’s playoff leader in points, 3-pointers made and attempted, field goals made and attempted, and free throws made and attempted.
Andrew Wiggins had 22 points and five rebounds. Two days removed from playing 28 minutes off the bench in his first game back from an extended absence, Wiggins was back in the starting lineup for Game 2. While his being able to play 39 minutes without issue speaks highly for Wiggins’ conditioning and effectiveness, it was also a sign of Jordan Poole’s continued struggles. Poole, who sprained his ankle during Game 1, shot 1-of-7 from the field in Game 2.
Golden State has a 24-9 record since 2015 and a 30-11 record since 2013 after a playoff loss, the highest winning percentage during each span.
