It’s time for basketball fans to start getting excited, as the new NBA season is almost upon us. We are coming off a very good season that saw the Golden State Warriors once again make it back to the top of the heap as the champions of the league, but can they go out there and do it all over again? There are a handful of teams that look ready to challenge for a championship in the 2022-23 NBA season, and the bookies have the odds quite tight among the current favorites. The championship odds for the season are now up, and for some teams, this might be as good as it gets, as the odds for the favorites are likely to shorten as the season progresses. Let’s take a look at a few of the favorites for the 2022-23 NBA Betting championship.
NBA Previw and Analysis of the Favorites to Win the 2022 – 2023 Season
Boston Celtics (+510)
With a 51-31 regular season record last year, the Celtics went into the playoffs as the #2 seed in the Eastern Conference. They made the most of that high ranking, and the home court advantage that came with it, to make a run all the way to the NBA Finals. They beat the best to get there but ended up losing to the Warriors in 6 games. You have to like the Celtics to be among the best in the East again this season, and you also have to believe that they will have benefited from the experience of their run to the Finals.
Golden State Warriors (+610)
Last season, the Warriors were great in the first half of the season before tailing off in the second. They ended up with 53 wins, which had them in the #3 spot to close out the season. That said, they went on a 5-game winning streak to end the regular season, a run that carried over into the playoffs. Through 4 rounds of the postseason, they dropped just 6 games and never really looked to be in any danger. That is going to be a tough act to follow, but as the odds clearly show, the bookies believe they can make another deep run.
Milwaukee Bucks (+660)
When you head into the season as the defending champions, the expectations are always going to be high. It’s probably fair to suggest that the Bucks were unable to live up to those expectations, as they proved to be one of the more frustrating teams to wager on last season, going through a number of streaky runs over the course of the year. They had no problem getting past the opening round and looked to be in control in Round 2 versus the Celtics, going up 3-2 before losing the final 2 games. We expect much better from them this year.
LA Clippers (+670)
If you want to talk about underperforming last season, you need to talk about the LA Clippers. They fell well short of expectations, landing in the play-in section of the playoffs, where they lost twice to be bounced out early. The bookies seem to believe that this is a team that can bounce back and finally deliver the goods. Of the teams in this preview, the Clipper might be the one that I would adopt a wait and see attitude with.
