“The bottom line is we couldn’t guard them,” Huggins said. “We couldn’t keep them out of the lane all day and it was a simple ball screen. We tried to switch it. We tried to double it and we couldn’t stay in front of them.”
With his 3-pointer with just more than 13 minutes remaining, Brady Manek passed Tim Heskett for fifth place in career 3-pointers with the 216th of his career at OU. Manek started at center for the second consecutive game as Sooners coach Lon Kruger opted to go with a smaller lineup, sticking with four guards and using Manek in place of Kur Kuath. Manek has scored at least nine points in each of the Sooners’ last four games.
