As so often happens in the NCAA basketball tournament, we see a lot of surprises in the early going, but as March Madness rolls on, it is usually the cream that rises to the top. At time of writing, we already know two of the teams that will be taking part in the Final Four, with the remaining two teams set to be decided on Tuesday night. We already have a #1 and a #2 seed moving on, but will we get more of the same from those final two games in the Elite Eight? Time will tell, but for now, we can look at who the bookies think will be the favorites to win the National Championship so you can make your bets against their College Basketball National Championship odds.
Updated Odds to Win the 2021 NCAA Basketball Championship
Gonzaga Bulldogs (+115)
It is never easy to go out and win a championship, but you have to say that the Gonzaga Bulldogs have made it to one win away from the Final Four without really being put under any serious pressure. It is a measure of how good this team is that they have made it to 29-0 on the season while making it all look rather easy at times. Now, though is not the time to come up with that first loss, but you do have to like their chances against #6 ranked USC on Tuesday night. You can almost bet that their odds will shorten once again if they come up with a win in that one.
Baylor Bears (+225)
With a couple of losses coming late in the regular season, there was some concern that Baylor might lose some of their momentum ahead of the tournament. That has not proven to be the case, though, as they are one of the teams to have already punched their ticket into the Final Four. They made it there with an 81-72 win over the Arkansas Razorbacks in the Elite Eight game, which means that it will be the #2 ranked Houston Cougars up next. Not an easy game by any stretch, but the Bears will be favored to win.
Michigan Wolverines (+525)
Michigan has what looks to be a rather straightforward path to the Final Four, as they will be up against #11 ranked UCLA on Tuesday night. As this tournament has proven time and again, though, the seedings often mean very little in a one-off game. This has been a good run for a Michigan team that lost 3 of their last 5 games of the season and looked to be heading into March Madness on a bit of a slump. If they do get past UCLA, they are still probably going to need to get past Gonzaga, which is no easy feat.
Houston Cougars (+550)
It says more about who they have to face than the Cougars themselves that Houston are in with the longest odds of the top four favorites. The Cougars started out as the #2 seed in the Midwest Region and have benefitted a little from the upsets that have gone on in that part of the bracket. The highest seeded team they have had to face up until this point is a #10, so things are about to get a whole lot tougher, with the Baylor Bears their opponent in the Final Four.
