We all expect our March Madness brackets to be busted at some time or another, but this year was especially tough on all of us. We are down to the Final Four and all of the tops seeds are gone. The highest seeded team left in the tournament is the UConn Huskies, who started as the #4 seed, so it’s probably more than fair to say that any one of the remaining four teams could go on and win the National Championship. In this piece, we are going to look at the current Final Four odds and how each team got to this point. As for making predictions, I have not done well in the tournament this year, so I will leave the picks for you guys to figure out alone. Let’s get to it.

Getting to the Final Four usually requires some level of struggle and a game or two where a team needs to dig deep to move on. That has not been the case for the Huskies, though, as they have cruised through the tournament, covering the spread in all 4 games. They started out by trouncing Iona 87-63 before beating St. Mary’s 70-55. They then totally swarmed Arkansas, beating them 88-65, but the biggest surprise came in the Elite 8, when they totally outclassed Gonzaga en route to aa dominating 82-54 win. It is easy to see why the bookies now have them in as their clear favorites.

San Diego Aztecs (+370)
The Aztecs come into the Final Four as a #5 seed, but they have already proven their worth by taking out a #1 seed that a lot of people saw as a tournament favorite. It was a straightforward start for the Aztecs, who beat the College of Charleston 63-57 before disposing of Round 1 Cinderella team Furman by a score of 75-52. They went into the Sweet 16 as a 6 ½ point underdog to #1 seeded Alabama, coming away with the 71-64 win, They were the dogs again versus Creighton, winning a close one by 57-56 to get here.

Miami Hurricanes (+440)
The Hurricanes started the tournament as a #5 seed and have had an incredibly difficult path to the Final Four. I say that, but they have actually made it look pretty easy to this point, despite having a #1 and #2 seed in their path. The Hurricanes got the ball rolling with a 63-56 win over Drake, after which they had an 85-69 win over Indy. It was at this point that many of us thought their run would come to an end, but they beat #1 Houston by a score of 89-75, and then they took out #2 Texas by a score of 88-81, which means they have now covered in all 4 games.

FAU Owls (+580)
The lowest seeded team remaining in the tournament, FAU made it here as the #9 seed. The Owls barely made it out of Round 1, beating Memphis 66-65. They has an easier time of things in Round 2 with a 78-70 win over Fairleigh Dickinson, after which they took out Tennessee by a score of 62-55. Their Elite 8 game versus Kansas State was a beauty, with the Owls holding on for the 79-76 win.
