Betting on Michigan vs Tulsa March Madness Odds

Written by on March 15, 2016

As is the case every year, there were some surprises when the committee announced the 68 teams that would be heading to the Tournament. No-one was really surprised to see the Michigan Wolverines granted a spot in the First Four, especially given how well they ended the regular season, but there were a lot of folks who were more than a little surprised to see the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes given a spot. These two teams will hook up in Dayton, Ohio on Wednesday night, with the winner going on to meet Notre Dame in the round of 64. Recent form would suggest that the Michigan Wolverines will be the team to move on, but this is March Madness we are talking about, and we all know that we are now heading into the time of the year when anything can happen. How To Bet The Michigan Vs Tulsa NCAAB Odds, TV & Game Info

When: Wednesday, March 16 at 9:10 PM EST Where: University of Dayton Arena, Dayton TV: TruTV NCAA Odds: Michigan -4

Why bet on the Michigan Wolverines

Michigan (20-11, 10-8) did not end the regular season on a particularly high note, losing 4 of their last 5, but a solid showing in the Big 10 Conference tournament turned things around. They eventually fell to Purdue, but basically booked their ticket to the First Four with a big OT win over Indiana. The Wolverines actually took out no less than 3 ranked teams in the Big 10 this season, which makes you believe that they are more than good enough to beat a Tulsa team that proved to be a little disappointing coming down the stretch. Michigan will be a confident bunch heading into this one, and look like a solid bet. The Wolverines are averaging 74.3 PPG, and are giving up 67.5 PPG.

Why bet on the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes

While everything I have written so far would make it seem as though Tulsa (20-11, 12-6) have no shot here, that is absolutely not the case. The one thing that is making them look like the underdog coming into this one is how badly they were beaten by Memphis in the American Conference playoffs. This is a team built around the guard position, as all three of their guards are double-digit scorers. They are going to have to go through those guys if they hope to get past Michigan and off for a date with the Fighting Irish. They are also going to have to stop the excellent outside shooters that Michigan are bringing to the table.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

Very often in sports, it is the team with the confidence and momentum that goes on to win close match-ups. If that is indeed the case, then it will be Michigan who will be moving on to the round of 64. Michigan Wolverines 75 Tulsa Golden Hurricanes 69
