2019 NFL Week 6 Parlay Betting Picks

Written by on October 8, 2019

It has been a great NFL season in terms of close games so far. A total of 41 games have been decided by seven points or fewer in 2019, tied with the 1999 season (41) for the second-most such games through five weeks of a season in NFL history. Only the 2006 season (42) had more. Here are two games we would parlay together on the Mybookie NFL spread for Week 6.

2019 NFL Week 6 Parlay Betting Picks

Houston Texans at Kansas City Chiefs

First pro meeting between stellar young quarterbacks in Houston’s Deshaun Watson and Kansas City’s Patrick Mahomes. Both were taken in the first round of the 2017 draft. Watson completed 28 of 33 pass attempts for 426 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions for a 158.3 passer rating, the highest attainable mark, in the Texans’ 53-32 win over Atlanta. Watson became the first player to pass for at least 400 yards and five touchdowns with five-or-fewer incompletions in a single game in NFL history.

Additionally, Houston wide receiver Will Fuller recorded 14 catches for 217 yards and three touchdowns in the win. He became the fourth player in NFL history to register at least 14 catches, 200 yards and three receiving touchdowns in a single game, joining Pro Football Hall of Famers Jerry Rice (December 18, 1995) and Steve Largent (October 18, 1987), along with Jimmy Smith (September 10, 2000). Fuller was impossible to cover all afternoon and could’ve had an even bigger day if he wasn’t tackled at the one-yard line on two separate occasions. Carlos Hyde rushed 21 times for 60 yards and a touchdown.

What about the Chiefs?

Kansas City fell from the ranks of the unbeaten in a 19-13 home defeat to Indianapolis. Mahomes completed 22-of-39 passes for 321 yards and a touchdown. With Sammy Watkins going down on the first drive, Mahomes was playing without his top two receivers in Watkins and Tyreek Hill. He also aggravated his ankle injury and was clearly playing at less than 100 percent.

Andy Reid on the chances that Hill plays on Sunday against the Texans: “I’ll know more as we get through this week. He practiced a little bit last week and he moved around pretty good but they’ve got to make sure everything is stable. He wasn’t being hit last week.”

Chiefs defensive tackle Xavier Williams will undergo an MRI on his injured ankle. He’s believed to be dealing with a bad sprain. With Chris Jones (groin) also on the shelf, KC’s defensive front won’t be at anywhere close to full strength for this game. That bodes well for Watson.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Minnesota Vikings

Potential playoff preview? Both teams are good enough to get there. They did play in the NFC title game following the 2017 season and the Eagles rolled. Philly comes off an easy home win over the Jets. Philadelphia became the first team in NFL history to record 10 sacks and score two defensive touchdowns in a single game.

Eagles cornerback Orlando Scandrick registered two sacks and scored a 44-yard fumble-return touchdown. Scandrick joins Ronde Barber (September 10, 2000), Captain Munnerlyn (December 15, 2013), and Antoine Winfield (December 28, 2010) as the only defensive backs with at least two sacks and a touchdown in a single game since 1982 when the individual sack became an official statistic.

Eagles vs Vikings is one of the best games in NFL Week 6 schedule.

Philadelphia running back Darren Sproles had 32 all-purpose yards in the win. Sproles, who now has 19,684 all-purpose yards throughout his 14-year career, surpassed Pro Football Hall of Famer Tim Brown (19,682) for the fifth-most all-purpose yards in NFL history.

What about the Vikes?

The Vikings were 28-10 winners at the Giants. Kirk Cousins completed 22-of-27 passes for 306 yards and two touchdowns. This was Cousins first game with at least 300 passing yards since Week 11 of last season. He had been in a massive drought. After having to apologize to Adam Thielen for his poor play, the duo linked up for two touchdowns and 130 yards. Dalvin Cook rushed 21 times for 132 yards and caught 6-of-6 targets for 86 yards.

The play-action game, where Cousins has found success creating explosive pass plays throughout his career, finally got into a rhythm in New Jersey. Cousins was 9-of-11 passing for 153 yards and a touchdown on such throws after posting 197 play-action yards in the first four games combined.
