2020 NFL Odds for Week 1 Over/Under Total Picks to Bet On

  • When: Thursday, Sep. 10 – Monday, Sep. 14

Thursday, Sep. 10 Match

Texans / Chiefs 54 ½

The Texans could have trouble scoring against a defense that boasts one of the best secondaries in football. The Chiefs should score at will, but there are only so many possessions and it’s hard to see KC breaking 40 in the first game. Going under.

NFL Pick: Under

Sunday, Sep. 13 Matches

Miami Dolphins / New England Patriots 43 ½

Last season, the Patriots allowed 14.1 points per game. That was downright SEC like. Ryan Fitzpatrick, Miami’s starting quarterback, torched the Pats for 320 yards and a touchdown in a Week 17 win. Fitz should get it going while Cam Newton on the other sideline figures to have a great opening game. Also, the number is soft at 43 ½.

NFL Pick: Over

Las Vegas Raiders / Carolina Panthers 47 ½

It’s difficult to know what the Panthers will do on offense. Teddy Bridgewater is a good quarterback. But, he’s not a 350 yards, 2 touchdown passes per game quarterback. Las Vegas should concentrate on rushing the football. This figures to go under.

NFL Pick: Under

Seattle Seahawks / Atlanta Falcons 49

Seahawks versus Falcons projects as a shootout. Both teams are loaded on offense. Atlanta’s offense figures to light up the scoreboard like a Christmas tree. Julio Jones, Todd Gurley, Calvin Ridley and Matt Ryan throwing the football to all three? The Seahawks D got better after adding Jamal Adams. It’s not good enough to keep the ATL from posting 30, which means if Seattle hopes to win the game, they must post more than 30.

NFL Pick: Over

Indianapolis Colts / Jacksonville Jaguars 45

We don’t know how much Philip Rivers has left. Rivers entered the league the same year as Peyton Manning. That’s how long he’s played in the NFL. The rushing attack should be solid, though. Also, we’re discounting the fact that Jacksonville’s Gardner Minshew III might be a true starting quarterback. Over.

NFL Pick: Over

Green Bay Packers / Minnesota Vikings 45 ½

A Green Bay problem is a Minnesota strength. The Packers allowed 120.1 rushing yards per game last season. Dalvin Cook could rack up 150 to 200 yards in this game. Also, it’s not as if the Vikings or Green Bay don’t have passing attacks.

NFL Pick: Over

Arizona Cardinals / San Francisco 49ers 47 ½

Both games last season blew through the over. It wasn’t even close. Arizona added DeAndre Hopkins. The 49ers added rookie wide receiver Brandon Ayuik. Both teams should average more points this season than last season. So, yes, this is another over battle.

NFL Pick: Over

Buccaneers / Saints 49

Both games went over in 2019. And, let’s be honest, Bruce Arians and the Bucs didn’t sign Tom Brady to not let him throw it all over the field. The Saints ranked fourth against the rush and could have a more effective front seven this season. Even if Brady and Arains wanted to slow thing down, they may have no choice but to turn this into a shootout.

NFL Pick: Over

Monday, Sep. 14 Matches

Titans / Broncos 41

Denver’s offense could be awful to good. It’s most likely that Drew Lock and the Broncos go run heavy. We know the Titans will go run heavy. Run heavy doesn’t mean points don’t land on the board, though. In this case, it will. Titans figure to win by around a touchdown to 10 points, 20-10 or 17-10. Either way, we’re looking at an under game.

NFL Pick: Under
