2022 NFL Power Rankings Betting Update After Week 2

2022-23 NFL Regular Season

  • When: Sep. 8, 2022 – Jan. 8, 2023

NFL Power Rankings for Week 3

  1. Buffalo Bills 2-0 – The 41-7 win against Tennessee impresses big time. The Bills’ offense is unstoppable right now.
  2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2-0 – Tampa looked to be on the ropes in a game versus New Orleans in the Big Easy. The Buccaneers rallied and Tampa broke a 4-game regular season losing streak against their top rivals.
  3. Kansas City Chiefs 2-0 – After a fantastic game versus the rival Chargers, one where the Chiefs came out ahead, it’s difficult to separate KC and the Bolts. But since the Chiefs beat the Chargers, they get the nod.
  4. Los Angeles Chargers 2-0 – The Chargers should have beaten Kansas City in the NFL Week 2 Thursday night game. The fact they made it so close at the end speaks to how far this squad has come.
  5. Miami Dolphins 2-0 – What can we say about Tua Tagovailoa’s 469 yards and 6 TD performance in the comeback win against the Ravens. Tua and the Dolphins face Allen and the Bills on Sunday. The winner has the inside track to the NFC East title.
  6. Philadelphia Eagles 2-0 – Jalen Hurts is rocking. Hurts can hurt you with the pass and the rush. The Eagles deserve this ranking after the defense held Minnesota’s offense to 7 points in a stunning 24-7 Philly win.
  7. Green Bay Packers 1-1 – Green Bay did what they always do, beat the Chicago Bears and cover the spread. The real reason GB is in the top ten this week is because Aaron Rodgers developed a rapport with wideout Sammy Watkins. If the QB and WR develop a stronger connection, Green Bay will be tough to beat.
  8. San Francisco 49ers 1-1 – San Francisco quarterback Trey Lance broke an ankle. Lance is out for the season. The Niners won’t miss a beat because Jimmy G. takes over under center. San Francisco’s 27-7 win against Seattle proved they remain one of the contenders to win the Lombardi.
  9. Baltimore Ravens 1-1 – It’s difficult to drop the Ravens too far after giving up 4 touchdowns to Miami in their week 2 loss. Ninth feels right.
  10. New Orleans Saints 1-1 – The Saints deserve to remain in the top ten. There’s no shame in losing to the Buccaneers and in the fourth, New Orleans was on their way to going up 10-9 before Mark Ingram fumbled inside the Buccaneers’ ten yard line.
  11. Minnesota Vikings 1-1 – The game versus Philly got away from the Vikings. Minnesota will bounce back.
  12. Arizona Cardinals 1-1 – Arizona goes from 32 last week to 12 this week. The Cardinals showed zero heart in the loss to the Rams. In the come from behind victory against the Raiders, Zona showed they had as much heart, if not more, than any team in the league.
  13. New York Giants 2-0 –  The Giants are 2-0 because they’re a good football team and have one of the top coaches in the NFL in Brian Daboll. NYG has a key Monday night game versus the rival Cowboys this week.
  14. Los Angeles Rams 1-1 – The Rams won, so they deserve this ranking. But, wow, LAR almost allowed Marcus Mariota and the Falcons to mount a come back. So fourteen is right.
  15. Jacksonville Jaguars 1-1 – The Jaguars defense held a Matt Ryan led Colts squad to 0 points in a 24-0 win. Jacksonville should have won in the first week, which means they’re for real.
  16. Detroit Lions 1-1 – After scoring 35 against Philadelphia in week 1 and 36 versus Washington in the second week, it’s safe to say the Lions have one of the top offenses in the NFL.
  17. Denver Broncos 1-1 – Denver beat the Texans, which brought the Broncos’ record to 1-1. But Denver didn’t dominate in the 16-9 win, which is why they rank behind the Jags and Lions.
  18. Dallas Cowboys 1-1 – Cooper Rush should be starting for some team. Rush rallied the Cowboys to a win against the Bengals in Dallas’ second game. If the Boys beat the Giants in the Meadowlands on Monday night, they’ll leap forward on these rankings.
  19. Cincinnati Bengals 0-2 – Cincinnati should be 2-0 instead of 0-2, which is why they rank ahead of a bunch of 1-1 teams. The Bengals will get it together. On Sunday, Cincy faces the Jets.
  20. New England Patriots 1-1 – Beating Pittsburgh on the road is no easy task. The Patriots played Belichick Ball, leaning on their defense and rushing the rock, in the 17-14 win.
  21. Pittsburgh Steelers 1-1 – It’s tough to drop the Steelers too far from the Pats. Pittsburgh’s D has 6 takeaways in 2 games. So if the offense catches up, the Steelers should be a playoff contender.
  22. Cleveland Browns 1-1 – The Browns have yielded 17 points in the fourth quarter in each of their first couple of contests. Allowing the Jets to beat you at home is close to unforgivable.
  23. Las Vegas Raiders 0-2 – Unless Josh McDaniels fixes the offensive line, Derek Carr to Davante Adams won’t flourish. If the QB and WR connection doesn’t flourish, the Raiders won’t win games.
  24. Houston Texans 0-1-1 – Houston deserves a top 25 ranking. Love Smith’s crew forced a 20-20 draw with the Colts in NFL Week 1. In their second game, the Texans lost by just 7 in a road contest against the Broncos.
  25. Seattle Seahawks 1-1 – Seattle isn’t a good football team, which is why the 49ers dusted the Seahawks 27-7.
  26. New York Jets 1-1 – The Jets impressed in the win over the Browns, but lets be honest. Cleveland gave the game away. NYJ isn’t that good of a football team.
  27. Washington Commanders 1-1 – The Commanders should be 0-2 instead of 1-1. Almost as important? D.C. doesn’t seem to care to win football games. The Commanders don’t play with urgency.
  28. Chicago Bears 1-1 – Chicago has some decent pieces. But the Bears got lucky versus San Francisco in the first week. Green Bay exposed the team for what they are, a hard trying squad that doesn’t have enough talent to compete versus the NFL’s better squads.
  29. Carolina Panthers 0-2 – Carolina’s players have shown massive heart in losses to the Browns and Giants. It’s not often we know exactly what the problem is. In this case, it’s obvious. Matt Ruhle and his coaching staff are the issue because it’s not the players.
  30. Atlanta Falcons 0-2 – The Falcons don’t have a great roster. But the ATL deserves to have a ranking ahead of the Colts and Titans because Atlanta tries much harder than those two teams.
  31. Indianapolis Colts 0-1-1 – The Colts were supposed to be a Super Bowl contender. Right now, Indianapolis doesn’t look like they will win a game. That’s how badly they’re playing.
  32. Tennessee Titans 0-2 – There’s no shame in losing to Buffalo. There is shame in losing 41-7. The Titans allowed the Giants to upset them in NFL Week 1. In their second game, the Titans appeared to give up, which makes Tennessee the worst team in the NFL after the second week.
