Cleveland Browns Odds 2023: Calendar’s Betting Analysis for Home/Away Opponents

It’s a massive week in the NFL, with the 2023 Draft now very much upon us. This is the time of year where teams are focused on building their squad for the season ahead, with little thought being given to the teams that they will be facing once the regular season gets underway. As fans and bettors, we love to look ahead at what’s coming and start planning how we will play the games that we will be watching this season. The official schedule, with dates and times, will be released later in the spring, but even before that comes out, we do already know the matchups that are coming. For this piece, we are going to focus on the NFL betting analysis for Cleveland Browns and their 2023 schedule, so let’s jump right in.

2023 Analysis of Team-By-Team Opponents without Calendar: Cleveland Browns – Home/Away

Home

The Browns get one extra game at home this season, but whether that will be an advantage or not remains to be seen. Of course, they will have 3 homes games against their divisional opponents, with the Bengals, Ravens, and Steelers all coming to town, with all of those expected to be tough games, as always.

The Browns went 4-4 at home last season and have a pretty solid mix of winnable games and tough ones on their home schedule. They will face the Arizona Cardinals, who went 4-13 last season and 3-5 on the road. They will also a winnable game against the Chicago Bears (3-14, 1-7). The Jacksonville Jaguars (9-8, 4-5) are a team on the rise and will be a tough opponent. Who knows what the Browns will face when they host the New York Jets (7-10, 4-5), who are now led by Aaron Rodgers. They will also have very tough home games against the San Francisco 49ers (13-4, 5-3) and the Tennessee Titans (7-10, 4-5).

Away

If the Browns are to take a run at the AFC North this season, they are going to need to be a whole lot better than their 3-6 road record last season. They will, of course, have road trips to Baltimore, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh, as they do every season, but what about their other road trips. Let’s look at their upcoming opponents, as well as the overall and home records of each team.

A trip to Denver is never an easy one, even though the Broncos are coming off a tough season where they went 5-12 overall and 4-4 at home. They will have a winnable game against the Houston Texans (3-13-1, 0-7-1), and a tricky trip to Indianapolis to face the Colts (4-12-1, 2-6). They will also have road games against the LA Rams (5-12, 4-5) and the Seattle Seahawks (9-8, 5-4).

All told, this is not the toughest schedule in the world if you base it on what each of these teams did last season. That said, we can see fortunes change dramatically, dependent upon what those teams do in free agency and the draft. Some teams that were basement dwellers last season might well take a step forward, while better teams might slip back. We will have a better idea of what this schedule actually looks like in terms of strength once we get to the preseason and see all the complete rosters.
