For a team that got a ton of buzz after the NFL Draft, the Eagles offer a relatively soft win-loss total. Teams that are supposed to contend for the conference should win at least 9 games in a 17-game season.
But Philly’s win-loss total stands at 8 ½. What does this tell us? It says that there are as many NFL handicappers who don’t believe in the Eagles as there are that do.
Like all teams in the NFC East, the Eagles face the NFC North and the AFC South this season. Three teams from the South can make the playoffs: the Jaguars, Titans, and Indianapolis.
But the Eagles play just one of those games on the road. Not only that, but tough matchups versus Minnesota, Green Bay, and New Orleans happen at Lincoln Field. So although the schedule is difficult, it’s workable. Over is the play.

The reason to love Philadelphia is because the Eagles acquired A.J. Brown, one of the most gifted wide receivers in the league, from the Titans.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts has a huge, fast, target to throw to in Brown. Pairing Brown with Devonta Smith should help hurts take the next step.
On paper, the Eagles should challenge the Cowboys. Dallas is getting a lot of press for their defense. But Philly’s might be better. The odds are fair. If they approach +220, they will be overlaid.

The odds on the Eagles to win their division are fair. The odds on Philadelphia to win the NFC Conference are underlaid.
The reason the odds are at an underlay number is because even if the Eagles win their division, Hurts won’t play well enough to get Philly past the Buccaneers, Saints, Rams, 49ers, or Cowboys. One of those teams will beat the Eagles before the NFC Championship.
