Examining NFL Preseason Week 2 Bet-On Teams

Favorites You Should Bet On 2016 NFL Week 1

Written by on September 9, 2016

The NFL regular season is 17 weeks long, and that means that there will be plenty of opportunities to wager. It can be tempting to go out and try and hit some big winners in Week 1 of the season, but I like to go with some more comfortable picks in the opening couple of weeks. These are games that I see as an ideal opportunity to make some quick money and get my confidence up. It’s the equivalent of giving a rookie QB a very makeable passing play for his first throw. There will be bigger plays to come, but let’s get things started with some favorites that I really like in Week 1.

In Depth Analysis On The Favorites You Should Bet On 2016 NFL Week 1

Kansas City Chiefs (-6.5) over the San Diego Chargers

The Kansas City Chiefs were red hot at the end of the regular season last year, winning their last 10 games to get into the playoffs. There is a sense that they could be one of the teams to beat in the AFC this year, and if that is to be the case, then they need to avoid the slow start that they got off to in 2015. This match-up represents the perfect opportunity to do so. The KC defense should smother the Chargers, and I like the Chiefs to open up their year with a double digit win.

Seattle Seahawks (-10) over the Miami Dolphins

The Seahawks are an absolute juggernaut on home field, and I believe that they are going to open up the playbook a little wider for Russell Wilson now that Marshawn Lynch has hung up his cleats (for now at least). The Dolphins look to me like a team that is destined for another mediocre season, and it should all begin with a rather hefty defeat on the road in the Pacific Northwest. If you aren’t comfortable with the spread, just take the Seahawks straight up.

Houston Texans (-6) over the Chicago Bears

The Houston Texans have been knocking in the door or a number of years now, but have always fallen a little short because they have been lacking an elite QB. It remains to be seen whether or not Brock Osweiler will be the answer, but the Texans certainly think so given how much money they paid to lure him away from the Super Bowl Champion Denver Broncos. The Texans are still going to be very good on defense, and it should be more than good enough to hold the Bears at bay. Texans win by double digits.

Pittsburgh Steelers (-3) over the Washington Redskins

The Steelers will be starting the season without the suspended LeVeon Bell and Martavis Bryant, but they still have Antonio Brown and Big Ben ready to hook up again. They also have a young defense that should be even better than last season, and they look to me like a team that could well be contending for the Super Bowl this season. This could be a high scoring game, and I like the Steelers to come out on top.
