In Week Eight of the NFL, the New York Giants travel to Seattle to play the Seahawks on Sunday afternoon at Lumen Field in a matchup between two unexpected playoff contenders. Despite a first-year head coach, the Giants come into this matchup atop the NFC standings after collecting their sixth win last week, taking down the Jaguars 23-17. Similarly, the Seahawks find themselves in first place in the NFC West, moving their record to 4-3 after a 37-23 thumping of the Chargers in Week Seven. Can the Seahawks manage another upset? Will the Giants keep rolling? Let’s take a closer look at this matchup and find out so you can place your bets against their NFL Odds.
NFL Week 8 Betting Preview for New York Giants at Seattle
New York Giants Betting Preview: Giants go for NFL Leading Seventh Victory
The Giants come into this matchup among the league’s top teams, and after only dropping a game to the division-leading Philadelphia Eagles in September, they now seem to be a real NFC East contender. After defeating Lamar Jackson and the Ravens, as well as Aaron Rodgers and the Packers, NFL fans are starting to take the G-Men seriously.
In their most recent contest, the Giants were able to pick up their sixth win of the season thanks to Saquon Barkley and Daniel Jones, who have led the Giants’ consistent play on both sides of the ball. Barkley gained 135 yards rushing last week, while Jones added 309 yards and two touchdowns through the air.
New York’s defense was able to force a turnover and limit the Jaguars to 17 points on the defensive end of the ball. They have been an excellent defensive unit giving up an average of 18.6 points per game on defense.
Seattle Seahawks Betting Preview: Seahawks Look For Another Upset
The Seahawks have won two straight games after defeating the Chargers 37-23 on the road last week and now find themselves in sole possession of first place in the NFC West. Star rookie running back Kenneth Walker III had another strong performance totaling 168 yards and two touchdowns in the win, and he has already cemented his position as one of the best picks in this year’s draft class.
The offense has been one of the most surprising units in the league, as they are totaling an excellent 26.1 points per game. Quarterback Geno Smith has been a huge part of Seattle’s success in building an excellent rapport with Wide Receivers D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.
The Seahawks’ defense has been their biggest issue up to this point in the season but they had their moments last week. The Chargers‘ opening three possessions were stopped by Seattle after they were able to force a turnover on downs, a fumble recovery, and an interception. Given that the unit is giving up roughly 400 yards per game, there is still much room for improvement.

This will be an interesting matchup between the Giants and the Seahawks, and it is probably the most anticipated matchup of the week. Last week, the Seahawks defeated the Chargers despite being five-point underdogs. Seattle has covered their last two contests, but they are running into a red-hot Giants team.
I see the argument made for Seattle. They are playing at home, and their offense is impressive. Despite this, the Giants are an incredible 6-1 ATS up to this point, and they have yet to lose on the road. Seattle’s top wide receiver could potentially miss this matchup, and the Giants defense has been vicious. I’m not sure why they are even getting points, and I think oddsmakers get this wrong. Take the Giants.
