2023 Kansas City Chiefs Schedule

While specific dates have yet to be determined, the 2023 schedule has been released. The Chiefs know that they’ll have home and away battles with the AFC West foes. The Chargers should still be solid, the Broncos will be improved under new coaching, and the Raiders always play the Chiefs tough.

In looking at their toughest non-divisional opponents, the Chiefs do have a very tough schedule. They play the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Cincinnati Bengals this season.  With the exception of the Jets, Jaguars, and Patriots, all of those games will be at Arrowhead Stadium, so the Chiefs catch a huge break there.

While the schedule is very rigorous, the Chiefs get to play their toughest matchups at home, where the crowd gives them a huge home-field advantage. Come playoff time; we’ll see if the Chiefs can hold up from the tough schedule that they’ll have to play in the regular season.

Player Turnover

The Kansas City Chiefs did lose some key pieces this offseason. The biggest one being offensive lineman Orlando Brown. Brown ended up signing a huge free agent deal with another AFC team, the Cincinnati Bengals. Frank Clark, who was a salary cap casualty, is also still a free agent, and could return to the Chiefs.

Kansas City didn’t make any huge signings this offseason, but they did add a lot of depth to their offensive line. They also added a lot of defensive pieces as well. We’ll see if the Chiefs did a good job of replacing Brown, or if they’ll miss him down the stretch. Other than JuJu Smith-Schuster, their main offensive weapons will be returning.

What Does Las Vegas Think?

Las Vegas has set the Kansas City Chiefs win total at 10.5 games. We think they’ll win more than 10.5, but the oddsmakers are cautious due to the Chiefs very loaded schedule. If the Chiefs can avoid major injuries, we see them winning 11-12 games this season.

So, Can the Chiefs Win It All Again?

We think the Chiefs have what it takes to win it all again. In looking at the AFC, the Cincinnati Bengals have gotten better, as have the Miami Dolphins. Cincinnati getting Brown to protect Joe Burrow is huge, and Miami hiring Vic Fangio to run the defense will be a great compliment to the Dolphins strong offense.

Any time that you have Patrick Mahomes under center, you have a great shot at winning a lot of games. This Chiefs team is good enough to get to the Super Bowl and win it again. They kept their important offensive weapons, and they added depth to a defense that lacked depth a year ago. We see the Kansas City Chiefs being in the thick of the race to hoist the Lombardi Trophy again this season.
