The New York Jets will look to record their second straight win by pulling off the upset of the Kansas City Chiefs as slight road dogs in their Week 3 matchup of AFC playoff hopefuls on Sunday. Now, let’s find out if the J-E-T-S have what it takes to get the outright win or ATS cover.

In Depth Analysis On The Jets Vs Chiefs NFL Week 3 Expert Predictions

When: Sunday, September 25, 2016 at 4:25 PM ET Where: Arrowhead Stadium TV: CBS Live Stream: CBS Sports Network NFL Odds: Kansas City Chiefs -3 / Over/Under: 44

Bet The New York Jets at +3 Because…

The New York Jets have a great defense a veteran quarterback and dual-threat running back. The Jets are coming off a solid 37-31 Week 2 win over Buffalo in which veteran running back Matt Forte rushed 30 times for 100 yards and three touchdowns to lead New York to victory. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 24 pf 34 passes for 374 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions while both, Eric Decker and Brandon Marshall topped the 100-yard mark in receiving yards with Decker scoring once. For the season, Fitzpatrick has completed 62.3 percent of his passes with three touchdowns and one interception. The newly acquired Forte is the leading rusher with 196 yards and three touchdowns. The Jets defense is allowing an uncharacteristic 27.0 points and 387 yards per game. Defensive lineman Leonard Williams leads the Jets with 10 tackles and 2.5 sacks.

Bet The Kansas City Chiefs at -3 Because…

The Chiefs are playing at home and have a sense of urgency after losing last weekend. Kansas City is coming off an uninspiring 19-12 Week 2 loss against the Houston Texans in which quarterback Alex Smith was limited to 20 of 37 passing for a modest 186 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. The Chiefs were limited to 119 total rushing yards and no pass-catcher reached the 100-yard mark in receptions. For the season, Smith has completed a solid 63.5 percent of his passes, but has just two touchdown passes through two games. Defensively, the Chiefs are allowing 23.0 points and 369.5 yards per game. Linebacker Derrick Johnson has a team-high 16 tackles.

Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction

Prior to the start of the regular season, I genuinely believed Kansas City had a legitimate chance of winning the AFC West, I’m not so sure right now because of their underwhelming play so far. Having said that, I’m going to urge you to back the New York Jets to get the ATS cover at the very least for a handful of reasons. First, quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is rounding into better form after missing virtually the entire preseason and more importantly, the acquisition of veteran running back Matt Forte has been a huge success already or a team that lacked a legitimate rushing attack a year ago. Forte’s ability to both, run the ball and catch it out of the backfield causes most teams’ absolute nightmares and that should open up things for Fitzpatrick to connect with Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker in the passing attack. I know Kansas City is 1-5 ATS in their last six games against their AFC conference rivals, but the Chiefs are also just 1-4 in their L/5 games following an SU loss and 0-4 ATS in their last four home games. New York is 7-2-2 ATS following a game that they covered the point spread in and 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight games overall. I like the Jets to cover the NFL betting line in a thriller!

My Pick: NY Jets 24 Kansas City 21
