If we have learned anything over the years in watching and wagering on the NFL, it’s that we shouldn’t get too carried away based on the results of a single week. That said, there were a couple of teams who looked very good in the opening week, and a few others who looked as though they might be in some serious trouble. We might well be having a totally different conversation once Week 2 comes to a close, but that is a discussion for another time. For now, we are fully focused on this coming round of games and hopefully picking some winners that will help you boost your bankroll for the weeks ahead. It’s a long season and all we can do is take it one week at a time, so let’s make some O/U picks for Week 2 of the NFL season. Let’s get right to it so you can place your bets against the NFL Odds.
Week 2 O/U Betting Picks | 2022 National Football League Analysis
Minnesota Vikings at Philadelphia Eagles (OVER 51)
One of the bigger surprises of the weekend came with the Minnesota Vikings taking out the Green Bay Packers. Whether that was a sign that the Vikings are about to be legit remains to be seen, but we might get a better idea of that this weekend, as they have another tough one against the Philadelphia Eagles coming up. The Eagles got the win in their season opener, but they were made to work for it, beating the Detroit Lions by a score of 38-35. The Eagles offense looks to be rolling early, which is no real surprise when you consider that each of their last 5 games at home have ended with the OVER hitting. More of the same here.
New England Patriots at Pittsburgh Steelers (UNDER 40 ½)
One of the great AFC rivalries comes around again this weekend, but this matchup is not quite the same as it was when Brady and Big Ben were squaring off. The Patriots look to have a good QB in Mac Jones, but it is still early days in his career and there are some legitimate concerns about the offense in general, with that chatter starting back in preseason. It’s a new look offense for the Steelers, and while Mitch Trubisky did not look great in Week 1, he did lead his team to a win. This one screams defensive battle, and while the point total is on the lower side of things, I still think we see the UNDER in this one.
Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers (UNDER 42 ½)
In this matchup, we have a pair of teams in similar positions in that they are moving into a new QB era. Trey Lance has been officially handed the reins in San Francisco, while Geno Smith is under center in Seattle after Russell Wilson decided to move to Denver. The 49ers struggled in Week 1, albeit in poor weather conditions, against the Bears, while the Seahawks picked up a surprising Monday night win over Wilson and the Broncos. Both of those games were low on offense, which is something I see carrying over into Week 2. I am all about the UNDER in this matchup.
