Rams at Broncos NFL Week 6 Lines & Expert Pick

Written by on October 11, 2018

Case Keenum and the Denver Broncos will look to pull off the big upset against Jared Goff and the Los Angeles Rams when the two teams square off in their Week 6 Inter-Conference clash on Sunday. The Broncos will be looking to snap out of an uninspiring three-game losing streak while handing the unbeaten Rams their first loss of the season.

If you’re looking to find out whether Denver can cover the chalk as a touchdown home underdog or whether the Rams will roll to another big victory, then let’s get to my expert NFL pick right now.

Why Bet On The Los Angeles Rams?

Why should you bet on the Rams to win and cash in? There a bunch of good reasons, so I’ll get to the very best. First, Los Angeles has a downright explosive offense that is putting up a stupendous 34. points per game to rank third in the league right now. Second, L.A. also has an excellent defense that is limiting the opposition to just 19.6 points per contest defensively to rank sixth in points allowed. Then, there’s the fact that Los Angeles has a superstar in running back Todd Gurley and a big edge at quarterback with Jared Goff being infinitely better than Denver’s Case Keenum. I could keep going, but I’ll stop there.

LA got past Seattle 33-31 last weekend as Gurley rushed for three scores and Goff threw for another. Los Angeles scratched out the hard-fought win despite giving up three passing scores to Seattle’s Russell Wilson and seeing wide receivers Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp both suffer concussions in the win.  Los Angeles converted a crucial fourth-and-1 on a Goff quarterback sneak with just under two minutes remaining in regulation to get the win.

“We knew we were going to get it,” running back Todd Gurley said.

Why Bet On The Denver Broncos?

Are the Broncos a safe bet for NFL Week 6?

Why should you back the reeling Broncos in Week 6? Well, because they’re completely and utterly desperate, plus they’re playing at home where they’ve gone 2-1 this season. Unfortunately, Denver is struggling mightily right now, having lost three straight games including their stunning 34-16 smackdown road loss against the Jets on Sunday. The Broncos got 377 passing yards and two TD passes from Case Keenum, but Denver’s defense allowed New York running back Isaiah Crowell to rush for a franchise record 219 yards while giving up three TD passes to Jets rookie quarterback Sam Darnold.

“We usually are a pretty stout defense,” Broncos linebacker Von Miller said. “Today, we weren’t. We got gashed over the top two or three times today. It was a rough one.”

Expert Analysis and Prediction for Rams at Broncos

Well, clearly John Elway’s decision to bring in veteran quarterback Case Keenum is not going to solve all of Denver’s problems, which, clearly extend far beyond the quarterback position – plus, Keenum has kind of reverted back to the mediocre quarterback he was prior to his career year with Minnesota last season when he tossed 22 TD passes and just seven interceptions.

Denver is ranked a dismal 27t in scoring (20.0 ppg) and 23rd in points allowed (26.2 ppg). I personally don’t think they’ll veer be as good  defensively as they were a few years ago, when now, Rams defensive coordinator Wade Phillips was calling the shots to help lead Denver to their Super Bowl win.

Denver has gone a pitiful 1-10 ATS in their last 11 games following a straight up loss, 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 home games and 0-5 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record. Los Angeles is the better team on both sides of the ball and they’ve got a big edge on the sideline with Sean McVay clearly being superior to unimpressive counterpart Vance Joseph. I like the Rams to win y double digits to cover the chalk as a touchdown road favorite.
