Sure Winners 2016 NFL Preseason Week 2

Written by on August 15, 2016

There were a few surprise results in Week 1 of the NFL preseason, but the reality is that with the majority of the starters on each team riding the pine in the opening week, we really shouldn’t be surprised by anything. It should be a little easier to identify potential winners and losers in Week 2 of the preseason, as we now have some idea of the depth of each of the 32 teams. We will start our preview of this week’s preseason action by looking at the likely winners for the week, and we will also do an article about the teams that are most likely to be on the losing end of things. Keep in mind that we are still going to get a lot of back-ups playing in these games, so be sure to keep an eye on the updated online NFL betting odds before placing your wagers.

A Closer Look At The Sure Winners 2016 NFL Preseason Week 2

New England Patriots over Chicago Bears

The New England Patriots laid a 34-22 beating on the New Orleans Saints in Week 1 of the preseason, and that result was important because of how well Jimmy Garoppolo played at QB. He is the man who is going to have to lead the Patriots during the 4-week suspension of Tom Brady, so it’s important that he feels good heading into the regular season. He should get a chance to pad those stats against the Bears at Gillette Field on Thursday night.

Dallas Cowboys over Miami Dolphins

The Cowboys were in a bit of a tough spot in Week 1, as they had to be the first team to face the Rams in their return to LA. The fact that they lost just 28-24 in a game that the Rams were determined to win says a lot about this team. Also impressive was the play of back-up QB Dak Prescott who lit things up offensively. He will be looking to impress again in front of his home fans, and I think the Cowboys win this one going away.

Houston Texans over New Orleans Saints

The Texans rolled to victory in Week 1, and I think they will do the same this week. I expect them to give a little more playing time to Brock Osweiler at the QB spot as they try to get him ready for the start of the regular season. The Saints defense looked pretty porous against the New England Patriots in a 34-22 loss, and I have a feeling that they might get lit up again this week.

Jacksonville Jaguars over Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Jacksonville lost a close one to the Jets to get their preseason started, while the Buccaneers did not look very good offensively in their opening preseason loss. The Jaguars figure to be a whole lot better this season than they have been in recent years, and they will want to start the confidence building with a couple of wins before the start of the season proper. I think they can get that first win in this one.
