Tagovailoa, Young and Hurts 2020 NFL Draft Odds & Predictions

Written by on April 2, 2020

Will former Alabama signal-caller Tua Tagovailoa be second quarterback picked in the 2020 NFL draft? Will a quarterback-needy team like the Chargers or Jaguars trade up to grab the southpaw star or will he end up going to Miami with the fifth overall pick as a multitude of mock NFL drafts have suggested? Let’s see the 2020 NFL Draft Odds for Will Tagovailoa, Chase Young and Jalen Hurts.

Tagovailoa, Young and Hurts 2020 NFL Draft Odds & Predictions

As far as superstar defensive lineman Chase Young is concerned, NFL betting buffs need to know if he’s as much of a lock to go to Washington with the second overall pick or whether or not the Skins could be a draft-altering trade. Last, but not least, when it comes to former Alabama and Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts, recent mock drafts have the dual-threat signal-caller going anywhere between the second and fourth rounds.

When Will Tua Tagovailoa Be Drafted?

  • Pick No. 2 +450
  • Pick No. 3 +170
  • Pick No. 4 +900
  • Pick No. 5 +150
  • Pick No. 6 +950
  • Field (Any Other Pick) +1000

The rebuilding Dolphins have the fifth overall pick in the draft and Tagovailoa has been projected to be picked there by many draft analysts – at least – until recently. Now, some mock drafts are predicting that the Lions could pass up on cornerback Jeffrey Okudah with the third overall pick to grab Tua while others have the LA Chargers moving up from the sixth pick to grab Tua at No. 3 or No. 4 (New York). I’m going to predict that there are no pre-draft trades and Miami gets Tagovailoa with the fifth overall pick while the Chargers stay put at No. 6 to grab Oregon’s Justin Herbert. I’m going with the fifth overall pick and you should too!

When Will Chase Young Be Drafted?

  • Over 2.5 Pick +350
  • Under 2.5 -600

The former Ohio State superstar defensive end Chase Young is largely recognized as the best overall player in this year’s draft even if he doesn’t go first overall to quarterback-needy Cincinnati. With defensive-minded head coach Ron Rivera taking over in the nation’s capitol and the Skins appearing to be set at quarterback with Dwayne Haskins and Kyle Allen, there’s almost no way Washington passes up on such a phenomenal talent like Young with the second overall pick. This wager looks like a lock to me unless some absolutely stunning trade takes place.

When Will Jalen Hurts Be Drafted?

  • Round 1 +800
  • Round 2 +115
  • Round 3 +140
  • Round 4-7 +300

Jalen Hurts was a star of the highest magnitude at the collegiate level while suiting up for both, Alabama and Oklahoma. Hurts played in three National Championship games for the Crimson Tide while winning one. Hurts also set school records for total touchdowns (36) and rushing yards (954) during his freshman season. After losing his job to Tua Tagovailoa at Alabama, Hurts lit it up at Oklahoma in 2019 this past season by completing 69.7 percent of his passes for 3,851 yards with 32 TD tosses and just eight interceptions. Still, the book on Hurts is that he’s an elite dual-threat talent, but one that struggles from the pocket once he gets past his first read. Still, Hurts could potentially go to New England with the 45th overall pick or possibly to Jacksonville, Tampa Bay or Denver in either the second or third round. One team that I’m hearing nothing about picking Hurts is the Atlanta falcons who are still led by aging veteran Matt Ryan. I’m going with the once ‘Dirty Birds’ to grab Hurts with the 78th overall pick in the third round!
