Week 14 NFL Playoff Picture

Week 14 NFL Playoff Picture

Written by on December 8, 2022

We’re just a month away from the NFL Playoffs, and it’s now time to take a look at the league’s playoff picture if the season were to end today.  Let’s take a look at each conference, who’s in and who’s out, and who could possibly get in. Here is the complete preview for your NFL bets.

NFL Playoff 2022

AFC

If the season were to end today, the Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, and Tennessee Titans would be the top four seeds as the divisional winners. The Bills would have the top seed and would have a bye in the first week of the playoffs.

The Kansas City Chiefs would be the #2 seed, and would host the last entry into the AFC playoffs, the New York Jets. Baltimore would be the #3 seed, and would host the Miami Dolphins. With the status of Lamar Jackson up in the air, and him possibly being out for most of the rest of the regular season, the Ravens could find themselves in trouble over the next few weeks. The #4 seed, the Tennessee Titans would host the Cincinnati Bengals, the fifth seed. Cincinnati has been playing some great football, and we look for them to overtake Baltimore in the near future.

On the outside looking in in the AFC are the Los Angeles Chargers at 6-6, the New England Patriots at 6-6, and the hard-charging Las Vegas Raiders at 5-7. While the Chargers have a great chance to make a statement when they host the Dolphins on Sunday night, it’s the Raiders that have everyone concerned. Derrek Carr and the offense have suddenly come to life, and with Josh Jacobs and Davante Adams playing well, the AFC better be aware of the Raiders.

NFC

With the best record in the league, the Philadelphia Eagles hold the top spot and the bye in the NFC playoffs at this point. The Eagles would also have home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Coming in at #2 would be the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings would host the lowest wild card team which would be Geno Smith and his surprising Seattle Seahawks. At #3 would be the San Francisco 49ers. There are a lot of question marks surrounding the Niners now that Jimmy Garoppolo is out for the foreseeable future. The Niners would host the New York Giants.

The #4 vs. #5 game would see the Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas is one of the hottest teams in the league, and it would be quite the story if the Cowboys were the team that could possibly end Tom Brady’s career. This is a loaded playoff field, and one that will be very competitive.

Teams that aren’t in the field just yet that could make a run are the Washington Commanders at 7-5-1 along with the surging Detroit Lions. Washington has one of the league’s best defenses, and Taylor Heinicke has brought a spark to this team. They have upcoming dates with some of their NFC East foes that could either help or hinder their chances. The Detroit Lions have also played some inspired football as of late. The offense has looked very good, but the defense is still a work in progress.
