The most important dress rehearsal for the upcoming season is here and we have a brief guide of the teams you should pick or fade in the NFL preseason Week 3 online betting lines.

Analyzing The NFL Preseason Week 3 Bet-On And Bet-Against Teams

Bet-on NFL Preseason Week 3 Teams

  • Saints (-1)
  • Vikings (-4)
Pittsburgh Steelers at New Orleans Saints Both the Saints and Pittsburgh Steelers are 0-2 in the preseason, so something’s gotta give when the two meet this weekend. Given that we are in Week 3, we are bound to see starters from both teams getting some solid playing time on the field, and that should favor the well-stacked Steelers, as Ben Roethlisberger and his teammates possibly get off to a flying start against New Orleans’ in-transition defense. Even so, Drew Brees and his offense should be able to hang close. And then, when the backups take to the field, look for the Saints to take over and outplay the washed-off Landry Jones and his fellow backups that have disappointed mightily in the preseason so far. San Diego Chargers at Minnesota Vikings As if it’s not enough that the Vikings already have two marquee preseason wins at Cincinnati and at Seattle for a perfect 2-0 record, Minny will be officially launching the new U.S. Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis, and that will definitely psyche up the team to do it big for the fans. Obviously, San Diego’s winning performance over Arizona was encouraging, especially after the Bolts were destroyed by the Titans in Week 1 of the preseason, so writing Philip Rivers and his gang would be uncalled for. Still, with Minny’s defense firing on all cylinders, Adrian Peterson and Teddy Bridgewater receiving good minutes on the field, and head coach Mike Zimmer boasting of a stellar 10-1 preseason record since he joined the Vikings three seasons ago; Minnesota warrants full value as a solid bet-on team in this fixture.

Bet-against NFL Preseason Week 3 Teams

  • Washington (-2.5)
  • Giants (-2.5)
Buffalo Bills at Washington Redskins The Redskins tend to play quite well at home, but this is the preseason, so that home edge probably won’t matter much here. In terms of the starters and backups, I am a bit torn between the Tyrod Taylor offensive unit and the Kirk Cousins unit, but with Buffalo owning a way better defense than Washington, I feel that Washington is a false favorite here and the betting value should be with Buffalo at +2.5. If you can get a better number at +3, the better for you. New York Jets at New York Giants Let’s be honest, the Giants have been a disappointing bunch so far in the preseason. Their New York counterparts haven’t been that better, but Bryce Petty is doing good things under the center and the pressure on Geno Smith–I believe–will make him give his all in his game if he is to save his fading position as the Jets’ backup QB. The Jets should also be helped by the fact that the G-Men have mega problems in their offensive line (8 turnovers so far in the preseason). Add to the fact that the Jets have owned this Battle of Gotham City series, going 16-7 SU and 16-6-1 ATS in their last 23 meetings vs. the G-Men, we don’t need to tell you twice to bet against the Giants.

Summary of Recommended NFL Preseason Week 3 Picks: Saints (-1), Vikings (-4), Buffalo (+2.5), Jets (+2.5)
