Some Parlay Picks for This Week’s NFL Games | Week Five Betting Picks & Odds
Denver Broncos vs Indianapolis Colts (Over/Under 43.5)
Starting out with Thursday Night football, which features a pair of veteran quarterbacks and two teams that have gotten off to a disappointing start to their 2022 season. The Denver Broncos (2-2) fell back to .500 and mustered just 23 points on offense. Meanwhile, the Colts (1-2-1 dropped their second game of the season and accumulated just 17 points.
This game features two offenses that continue to play poorly both at home and on the road. Through four games, the Indianapolis Colts are averaging a miserable 14.3 points per game, while Denver hasn’t been much better, averaging 16.5 points per contest.
What makes this matchup lean more toward the under is that each team’s defense ranks among the best in the NFL. The Broncos rank fourth in the NFL in total yards allowed (284.4) and ranks fifth in passing yards allowed (170.8) and points per game (17). Similarly, the Colts rank sixth in defending the run (89.5) and total yards allowed (297).
Houston Texans vs Jacksonville Jaguars (-7)
The Jacksonville Jaguars continued to impress as they went into Philadelphia and had them on the ropes jumping out to a 14-0 lead before squandering it in the second half thanks to five turnovers. Despite this, Jacksonville has gotten the most out of Trevor Lawrence, who has thrown eight touchdown passes and just two interceptions, thanks to Super Bowl-winning coach Doug Pederson guidance.
Houston’s defense is allowing more than 400 yards and 20 points per game, and its offense ranks in the bottom five of the NFL in terms of yards and scores. To make matters worse for them, they’ll have to hit the road and face a Jaguar defense that is allowing just 14 points per game.
Jacksonville has outscored opponents 62-10 in their wins, while in each of their losses, they were within one possession. The Jaguars play well at home and are 2-0 ATS in their AFC South conference games in 2022 despite having a 2-2 record. For those reasons, back the Jags with confidence.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs Buffalo Bills (-14)
The second-worst offensive team in the league, the Steelers are averaging just 278.8 yards per game and only 18.5 points, ranking them among the lowest in the league. Kenny Pickett, a rookie first-round quarterback, was ultimately used as the starter, but he concluded the game with three interceptions in one half. He’ll have the tall task of starting his first game on the road against the most feared defense in the entire league.
On top of all that, the Steelers will head into Buffalo facing a Bills team that is 3-1 after facing arguably the hardest schedule up to this point. Buffalo is as resilient as they come, grabbing wins over the Rams, Titans, and, most recently, the Ravens.
Buffalo has dominated on all sides of the ball thus far with the Bills‘ offense, scoring close to 30 points per game and averaging more than 400 yards each game, ranking among the top three in the NFL. Additionally, the Steelers will be playing on the road against a defense that is first in yards allowed and second in points. Buffalo conceded just seven points in their lone game at home; the Steelers don’t have a chance in this one.
