This weekend will see teams across the NFL hit the one-third mark in the regular season, and while that means that there is still a ton of football to come, it also means that some teams are in serious danger of being in a hole too deep to get out of. The divisional races are beginning to take shape, and it is quickly becoming clear that some teams are, for the moment at least, simply not up to the battle. Things are still quite tight across the board, though, with just 1 unbeaten team remaining and every single team in the league having at least one win to their name. As we look ahead to Week 6, we are going to focus on the O/U picks for the week, as we look to improve our overall season record from our current 24-12 mark, which includes all our NFL Betting selections.
Some O/U Picks for This Week’s NFL Games | Week Six Betting Predictions
Jacksonville Jaguars at Indianapolis Colts – UNDER 42
Given how tight things currently are in the AFC South, you have to say that this is a critical game for both teams. The Jaguars are sure to still be stewing after losing to the Houston Texans, who had yet to win this season, last weekend. For the Colts, who are 2-2-1, it’s all about building a winning streak after picking up a win in Week 5. All of that aside, what we are looking at here is the point total, and it is the UNDER that would seem to be the way to go. The Colts in particular have struggled to put points on the board this season and are on a run that has seen the UNDER hit in 8 of their last 10 home games. The UNDER has hit in 5 of the last 6 divisional games for the Jaguars.
Denver Broncos at LA Chargers – UNDER 45 ½
For the next pick in this group, we are heading to Monday night and a matchup between the Broncos and Chargers. The Broncos have yet to get the best out of Russell Wilson and are struggling on the offensive side of the football, managing just 15 PPG through the opening 5 weeks of the season. The Chargers have been pretty decent offensively, but they have been a bit of a nightmare on defense. That said, I think they are more than good enough to keep this Broncos lackluster offense at bay in primetime. Speaking of primetime, the Broncos have seen the total go UNDER in each of their last 5 Monday night appearances.
Washington Commanders at Chicago Bears – UNDER 38
I won’t lie when I tell you that this one makes me a little nervous given that the total is very much on the low side of things. That said, neither of these offenses inspire very much in the way of confidence, which is just one of the reasons why I am leaning toward the UNDER on Thursday night. Washington has been a great UNDER pick in the month of October, with 15 of their last 18 games in that month going below the point total. It’s much the same story for the Bears, with 10 of their last 12 games played in October going the way of the UNDER, so this seems like a pretty straightforward bet.
