To say that the opening 5 weeks of the 2017 season has been surprising is perhaps putting things a little too mildly. The teams that we all expected would soar have, for the most part, failed to launch, while perennial strugglers have suddenly taken a big leap forward. The LA Rams, who couldn’t find their way to the end zone for much of last season, have suddenly turned into a scoring machine that has taken them to a 3-2 record and a tie for the lead in the NFC West, but according to the NFL betting lines for Week 6 that’s not enough to be favorites. The Jacksonville Jaguars have been one of the laughing stocks of the league for years now, but they too have come to life this season, thanks in large part to the addition of rookie Leonard Fournette, who has proven to be an absolute beast. While these early season successes are exciting for the fan bases of both teams, no-one is getting too carried away just yet. This is a pivotal game for both teams, and a win here may well serve as the launching pad for the rest of the season. The Jaguars come into this one as a 2 ½ point home favorite, with the point total set at 42.
