Why Bet On The New England Patriots To Win Super Bowl 51

Written by on November 29, 2016

It doesn’t matter if you’re a lifelong New England Patriots ‘hater’ like me, or whether you’re a hard core Patriots fan that lives for every Tom Brady touchdown pass. The fact of the matter is that the four-time Super Bowl winners and perennial powerhouse Patriots are apparently going to have another great shot to host the Vince Lombardi by the time Super Bowl 51 rolls around in February. Better yet, if you’re thinking about betting on the pats to bring home the Super Bowl bacon, then here are three great reasons to do so!

Analyzing The Reasons To Bet On The New England Patriots To Win Super Bowl 51

Tom Brady, Tom Brady and More Tom Brady

Look, Bill Belichick may now be recognized as the greatest coach of this era and one of the all-time greats of any era, but he wasn’t very good when he was without Tom Brady as his starting quarterback. Forget the regular season. Tom Brady has gone 22-9 in 31 postseason games while completing 62.4 percent of his passes for 7,957 yards with 56 touchdowns and just 28 interceptions and a career postseason quarterback rating of 97.0. Brady makes everything happen for the Patriots and if he’s under center, then New England has a great chance of winning…that’s just the way it is!

Bill Belichick is Unrivaled

Okay, I won’t rip Belichick for his 36-44 record as the head coach of the Cleveland Browns since apparently no one can win in Cleveland. Belichick has however put himself into the conversation as one of the greatest coaches of all-time by going 196-71 in 17 years as the head coach in New England. Belichick has led the Patriots to an insane 14 consecutive seasons of double-digit victories (including this seasons) and has a game plan to beat every team in the league. Belichick’s coaching prowess is most evident to me in the fact that, no matter what kind of talent he has each and every year in New England, he always gets the very maximum out of his team. Make no mistake about it, there are only a handful of NFL head coaches that can compete with Bill Belichick.

Underrated Defense Comes Up Big!

I know the Patriots are ranked a modest 13th in total defense (353.3 ypg), not to mention an identical 13th against the run (99.5 ypg) and uninspiring 17th against the pass (253.8 ypg), but when it comes to keeping the opposition out of the end zone, New England has been outstanding in limiting the opposition to just 17.9 points per game to rank stellar third. Defense doesn’t look like New England’s strong suit this season – until you try to get in the end zone on them that is!
