NHL Betting Opportunities for the Weekend Games for Week 22

NHL Betting Opportunities for the Weekend Games for Week 22

We’re nearing the finish line of the 2022-23 National Hockey League (NHL) regular season and, while some playoff matches are already set, there’s plenty of teams still battling for positioning, especially in the Eastern Conference, where there’s six teams within reach of the last two Wild Card spots.

There’s only two games on Friday night, but it’s another busy Saturday as usual.

Let’s take a look at some of the must-bet NHL games for this weekend.

NHL Betting Opportunities for the Weekend Games

Chicago Blackhawks vs. Florida Panthers

Chicago vs Florida Game Info | Updated NHL Odds
When: Friday, March 10, 2023 at 7:00 pm ET
Where: FLA Live Arena, Sunrise, Florida
TV / Streaming:

This game presents a great opportunity to win big with the underdog Blackhawks. Chicago has been playing well as of late, with a record of 5-5 in its last 10 games. Florida has won two games in a row and is trying to climb the standings to secure a Wild Card spot, but Chicago has enjoyed playing spoiler – they beat the Ottawa Senators 5-0 on Monday.

Florida has the league’s worst record against the spread (ATS) and are just 13-18 ATS at home. Chicago are 13-17 ATS on the road, so this is essentially a coin flip. Back the Hawks.

Detroit Red Wings vs. Boston Bruins

Detroit vs Boston Game Info | Updated NHL Odds
When: Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 1:00 pm ET
Where: Scotiabank Arena, Toronto, Canada
TV / Streaming: NHL

Yes, Boston is going to be a massive favorite in this game, and we’re going to take them regardless. There won’t be much value in the moneyline, but you can bet them to cover the -1.5 puckline. The Bruins are 38-23 ATS this season, including 18-12 at home. They’ve won 10 games in a row and show no signs of slowing down.

Boston has covered in each of its last four home games, and Detroit has failed to cover in its last four road games.

Edmonton Oilers vs. Toronto Maple Leafs

Edmonton vs Toronto Game Info | Updated NHL Odds
When: Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 7:00 pm ET
Where: TD Garden , Boston, Massachusetts
TV / Streaming: ABC

The Edmonton Oilers are playing their best hockey of the season. Connor McDavid is playing at a level we haven’t seen maybe ever and will almost certainly find the back of the net on Saturday against the Maple Leafs – he has 12 goals in his last eight games – but the Toronto Maple Leafs are tough to beat on home ice and have something to prove after being embarrassed in Edmonton last week.

Toronto is 23-6-4 at home this season but just 12-21 ATS, while Edmonton is 18-14 ATS on the road. Take the Maple Leafs moneyline, a Connor McDavid anytime goal, and/or the over. The Oilers and Maple Leafs have combined for 31 goals in their last five meetings.

Winnipeg Jets vs. Tampa Bay Lightning

Winnipeg vs Tampa Bay Game Info | Updated NHL Odds
When: Sunday, March 12, 2023 at 7:00 pm ET
Where: Amalie Arena, Tampa, Florida
TV / Streaming: ESPN

The Lightning have been going through a tough stretch, with Jon Cooper benching their three biggest stars for the entire third period in a loss last week. Tampa showed signs of turning the corner with the win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday and should keep rolling at home on Sunday against the Winnipeg Jets.

Winnipeg is 2-7-2 in its last 11 games and Tampa Bay is 23-5-4 at home this season. The Lightning should cover here.
