Betting Picks For NHL Weekend Action (March 31st)

Written by on March 31, 2017

Hockey season is drawing to a close, but there are still some playoff spots that need to be decided, as well as a little jockeying for position that will decide who faces who in the opening round. There are sure to be a couple of spots clinched this coming weekend, which also means that a few teams will be officially eliminated. It’s pressure time for a lot of teams, which means that the level of play is almost certain to be faster and more frenetic over the next few days. Hockey is always fun to watch, but it gets especially good this time of year, so if you plan on tuning into the action, you may as well make a few wagers. Let’s put together a trio of 2-team parlay picks for this weekend in the NHL betting spreads.

Betting Picks For NHL Weekend Action (March 31st)

NHL Parlay Picks for Friday – Penguins and Flames

The Pittsburgh Penguins are not ending their season particularly well, and are in fact entering the weekend on a 4-game losing skid. They have a tough one on Friday night when they head into MSG to face the New York Rangers, a team that will be in the playoffs, but who are also struggling right now. I like the Penguins to break out of their slump with a win.The Calgary Flames had a shot at locking up a playoff berth earlier this week, but went down 4-1 to the LA Kings on home ice. I just don’t see this Flames team repeating that, especially against a Sharks team playing their second game in consecutive nights.

NHL Parlay Picks for Saturday – Maple Leafs and Hurricanes

The race for the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference is about as exciting as it gets. The Toronto Maple Leafs could be dragged into that fight if they slip up coming down the stretch, but at 7-2-1 in their last 10 games, they are playing good hockey. I like them to take out the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night. The Carolina Hurricanes are currently sitting below the playoff line right now, but are making a concerted push to the finish, having picked up points in each of their last 10 games. I like them to keep things rolling with a home win over the Dallas Stars.

NHL Parlay Picks for Sunday – Blackhawks and Wild

The Chicago Blackhawks have already booked safe passage to the playoffs, but they are still looking to clinch the Central Division crown. While that task looks as though it will be one that they will accomplish, they will be looking to get the job done as quickly as possible, and it all starts with a win over the Boston Bruins on Sunday. The Minnesota Wild have fallen off the pace in the Central, going just 2-6-2 in their last 10 games. They too will be in the playoffs, but are looking to get back to better form before the postseason gets underway. A home tilt versus the Colorado Avalanche may be just what the doctor ordered.
