Top 2021 NHL Matches to Must Bet On: Panthers Will Try to Stop Tampa's Winning Streak

Top 2021 NHL Matches to Must Bet On: Panthers Will Try to Stop Tampa’s Winning Streak

With the arrival of the Omicron variant of COVID, we are once again seeing professional sports forced to adjust to the current spread. While the leagues are finding a way to continue, some are taking steps that are more drastic than others. The NHL has been the hardest hit to this point and made the decision to shut it down for a week or so. It was not the worst idea, but it also meant that the time set aside for players to go to the Olympics will now be used to make up the games lost during the past few weeks. The upshot of it all is that we will have the NHL back this week, but we will not be seeing players head to the Olympics as planned. With all of this in mind, let’s look ahead at the coming week as we pick out a few games that are on the must watch list so you can bet against their NHL odds.

Vegas Golden Knights at LA Kings – Tuesday

We get back to NHL action on Tuesday night with a smaller schedule. There are just 3 games on tap, so not a whole lot to get excited about. The one game that stands out is in the Pacific Division, with the Vegas Golden Knights making the short trip to LA to face the Kings. Vegas have worked their way to the top of the division with 8 wins in their last 10 and have to be considered a favorite here as they look to improve on their 10-5-0 road record.

New York Rangers at Florida Panthers – Wednesday

Both of these teams have spent some time atop their respective divisions this season, and while both are currently sitting 3rd, they are also still well within reach of the top. The Florida Panthers come into this one on a 3-game losing skid, but they are a ridiculously good 14-3-0 on home ice. The Rangers lost last time out, but they are still 6-3-1 over their last 10 games and just 1 point off of the lead in the Metropolitan Division.

Edmonton Oilers at St. Louis Blues – Wednesday

It is tough to maintain a steady pace in an 82-game NHL season, which is something that the Edmonton Oilers are finding out the hard way. They have dropped down to 4th in the Pacific Division after going 4-6-0 in their last 10, but they do have games in hand to the teams ahead of them. The Blues are sitting just 1 point off the lead in the Central Division and are on a run that has seen them go 6-2-2 in their last 10 games.

Tampa Bay Lightning at Florida Panthers – Thursday

While every team is going to be happy to get back on the ice this week, spare a thought for the Florida Panthers, who have a tough schedule ahead of them. Even with both games at home, playing the Rangers and Lightning on back-to-back nights is no easy feat. The Lightning are on fire right now and have surged back to the top of the Atlantic Division after winning 3 straight games to get to 8-1-1 in their last 10.
